  • Whats with teenagers posting film stars photo on their profile instead of their own photo?

I would not want---nor do I allow---my daughter to post her real photos online either. With so much personal information collections online, it's just a form of self-defense strategy to maintain anonymity. But that's just my policy.Whats with teenagers posting film stars photo on their profile instead of their own photo?
My opinion is that some are just expressing themselves through art. We all see ourselves different from what others do some good, some bad , and some that's just speechless.Whats with teenagers posting film stars photo on their profile instead of their own photo?
many teenager's are not allowed to have their pictures displayed online, and thus use the stars they admire in place of that. it's just another way for them to express themselves within the boundries of their parents.
Because they are so ugly, that a picture of themselves would be deemed offensive material. They're just doing it to prevent nightmares in others :)

Why do teenagers get spots more than adults or children?

i only started to get spots when pubity started this may affect but i'm not sure.

also why do i stop having spots for a while then they start again?

what can i do to stop getting spots? Why do teenagers get spots more than adults or children?
I'm not sure what you mean with spots.

My guess is teenagers get them more because of puberty. Go to a doctor, they'll know what to do to stop them, and more info.

Why are teenagers unconfident about their looks?

Mostly, all teenagers consider themselves very ugly. They are so sad that they want surgery and products. I am not going to lie, i am one of them but why do we think like this? When i was 14, i didn't even say anything like ';Omg i'm so ugly'; but now i say it all the time i look in the mirror. Why are teenagers unconfident about their looks?
I don't say it, i'm relatively content with my appearance.

BUT most teenagers say it because they are at one of the most impressionable stages of their lives; a time when they are constantly comparing themselves to other people: friends, people at school, celebrities etc.

The reason why you didn't do this when you were younger is simply because you didn't care, now you do.Why are teenagers unconfident about their looks?
HOLY COW WELCOME TO MY LIFE!! WE THINK LIKE THIS BCUZ WERE SUPPOSEDLY ';CONSTANTLY CHANGING'; SO WERE CONCERNED ABOUT THOSE CHANGES AFFECTING US...LIKE ACNE, OR MORE....PERSON STUFF BUT YEAH. sorry for the caps this is just somethin I really relate to.
its not just teenagers, most americans are insecure about looks
Well most of that has to do with how women are shown in magazines, movies, posters etc. There are a lot of tiny, skinny pretty women all over the media that the boys just drool over. That makes the insecure girls feel like they have to be like those women in order to be pretty and get a good boyfriend. But luckily there are more and more commercials and posters now a days where they are using women that aren't fitting that description. They are using women that do have some extra pounds and those women being able to go on national tv on commercials showing how proud they are of themselves can make the rest of us feel a little better. But there will always be that stereotype.
    they want attention
I'm Currently 13 And I Used To Feel That Way. Especially When I Got My Heart Broken For Someone Else! ):

But Now I Don't Give A Shiit Anymore!

    I Grew Up And Next Time Someone Brings Me Down I Just Turn Around And Say ';Fhuqk You!';

I Don't Consider Myself To Be Ugly But I Have My Days When I Feel Unattractive But I Just Don't Let It Get To Me!

    Now If Someone Else Calls You Ugly Then Just Go By Eminem's Words ';Unless You Want To Fhuqk Me, Then Why Do You Care What I Look Like?';

How can teenagers help contribute to the unity and harmony of their parents' relationship?

As the mother of three teen-aged daughters myself, I can tell you that the best way to help your parents' relationship is to remain without problems yourself as far as premarital sex, drugs, alcohol, etc...

Do well in school and try to limit irrational or moody behavior. Dress appropriately and listen to music other than the degrading and depressing stuff that is available now. Have nice friends who support you and who are on the ';right track'; as far as education and principles.

I think it's great that you understand that parents need a break from the emotional issues regarding their teenagers. How can teenagers help contribute to the unity and harmony of their parents' relationship?
they can't because life is not perfect. How can teenagers help contribute to the unity and harmony of their parents' relationship?
They can leave home at age eighteen.
Man thats a tough one. You would think the parents would be the adults in the family to begin with ,not a situation a teen is normally able to deal with. After all, teens are still figuring out who they are, and how to deal with there own social problems. But it is sometimes the thing that will snap two adults into realizing the importance of their relationship, that being there is also others that need to be considered here. Maybe they need to here this from their teen. It may be somwthing overlooked . As a teen, i know it's hard to be heard by adults, because what do teens know about anything, right? lol But from the heart feelings about what is going on ,and how it effects the teen, may be the one thing that opens there eyes to how selfish they are being when in disagreement with each other. anyways good luck hope this helps

wow the answer before mine sounds like mine....lol we think alike ....lol
First, that is the problem parents need to realize that their relationship is sacred. Unity is the job of the parents. ';What God put together let no man put asunder';. I'm not trying to allude to any religious creed but, the words are truly important to remember in a case like this. Parents need to be on the same page when raising children. No means ';no';, Yes means ';yes';. If a teenager chooses a poor path in life both parents need to unite to rectify the situation. No choice a teenager makes in life should ever break up two parents, for example: drugs, sex and/or alcohol. The problems that I see are when one parent takes it personally and believes the outcome of their child's poor decision making was solely their fault. They in turn become enablers and the problems start from there. Two parents have been divided, that is why you should discuss these things openly and it they are never too early to discuss. If you are ready to have intercourse you should be ready to converse openly about the ';what ifs'; in life.

The only thing that teenagers can do to keep unity and harmony in their parents relationship is to make every attempt not to make them choose sides.
This is really tough. Teens have their own issues and, quite frankly, they're not responsible for their parents emotional well-being. Mom and Dad have to deal with their issues. If you are a concerned teen, I strongly urge yo to talk your parents into going to marriage counseling. Perhaps even family counseling. If Mom and Dad are having problems they need help...but not from the kids, from professionals. I'm not knocking the kids, its just that there are professionals who specialize in dealing with couples who are having troubles. You go to a plumber to fix the plumbing so go to a therapist to fix a leaky marriage.
it depends upon how their parents brought them up; and i think economic, spiritual, emotional %26amp; psychological stability also matter a lot ...
by letting parents be parents- actually learning from their experiences...it isnt redundent!

What is the best cell phone for a teenagers first one?

Model, pros and cons and any other infoWhat is the best cell phone for a teenagers first one?
I would recommend one that is of little value, because teens tend to lose their cell phones or they get stolen.

Give them one that is 75 dollars or less, the best company is Verizon for cell phone service. It works almost everywhere, and the calls are almost always never dropped.

Try a plan that gives 150+ text messages, because teens love to text.

Teen Psychology:You can tell the teen that because they are so good and not complaining about getting a cheaper phone, they are being rewarded with text messages. What is the best cell phone for a teenagers first one?
alltel has a pre-paid plan and includes a free phone number to call (it could be mom %26amp; dad ), and you can just keep adding money to it. it's the LG i believe, the only con is that it takes off .75 cents every day whether you use it or not, but otherwise reception is good and you can put any amount from 20.00 (that's the minimum) to whatever. i really like the free phone number, and i have free nights %26amp;weekends plus mobile to mobile.

What attracts teenagers to smoking ?

My bro who is 16 years has been smoking since a year. He is well aware of the ill - effects of smoking and has also been hauled before the Disciplinary Committee of his school for smoking on campus. He has paid a high price as my parents withdrew him from one of the best schools in the world and enrolled him in a school nearer home. Yet, he's begun smoking again. Why?What attracts teenagers to smoking ?
    1. Tobacco advertising - As is the case for all marketing, is more powerful than people think. Media ads associate smoking with glamorous role models and glamorous situations. Sponsorships of events like rodeos or Nascar associate smoking with a favored hobby. Promotions and giveaways associate smoking with winning prizes. Whether the teen is rationally aware of the marketing or not, constant exposure can produce in the teen's subconscious a powerful association between smoking and positive emotions and experiences. Psychological research has proven this connection.

    2. Societal norms - This includes not only influences like peer pressure, but also cultural views of smoking (e.g. smoking is more culturally acceptable in Europe than in the US). The more your friends, family, and the society around you view smoking as ';normal'; or ';cool';, the more likely you will see smoking to be ';normal'; or ';cool'; as well. This aspect is especially influential for teenagers.

    3. Teenage illusions of invincibility - Teens (and young adults in general) are in a phase of life where their health is in peak condition and hormones are raging. Thus teens have the misguided perception that nothing can harm them and therefore are prone to practicing high-risk behaviors (e.g. drug use, unsafe sex, dangerous sports). Teens who feel that they are invincible may severely underestimate the health risks of smoking. They might see these health risks as ';only happening to old people'; or they might think ';If I smoke just a few years and then quit, I won't have health problems';, both of which are untrue. In addition, teens underestimate how addictive smoking can be, often thinking ';I'll just try it once and then I'll quit';, not realizing that even one cigarette is setting them on the path to addiction.

    4. Addiction - Self-explanatory. Smokers aren't dumb; They're quite aware of the health risks of smoking but find it hard to quit. As I said before, those who started smoking severely underestimated the addictive quality of cigarettes. Many smokers look back and regret their decision to start smoking. Many also bargain with themselves, saying things like ';I'll quit after this month';, or ';I'll quit after this box';, but rarely do. Even those who quit find it very hard to stay clean due to cravings that can last for years. The rate of relapse is very high.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother, but it's good that you're concerned about him. I don't know how much you can do to intervene. Though you said he's aware of the ill effects he might still feel that he isn't susceptible to them due to his youth, so you could try informing him that he is more susceptible to health risks than he thinks. He could also be hanging out with people who smoke, although I don't know how much can be done about that. Regardless, try to keep nudging him towards quitting. He'll need your continual support, especially once he quits and is trying to maintain it - that phase is usually the hardest part. These suggestions are really my own surmising though, it's probably best if you get advice from a smoking cessation hotline -I'm sure there are plenty out there. Best of luck! What attracts teenagers to smoking ?
I think rebellion is the main reason.
    CANCER
The appearance of being ';cool';. It's not ';cool';...it's nasty %26amp; deadly.
Smoking is a very unhealthy habit, but it's easy to fall into it when you're young. Especially in this day, smoking is sometimes seen as glamourous and for the ';cool'; and ';tough'; people. Teens can fall into it in hopes of getting that image..or through peer pressure..either way..it isn't good. I know a lot of people who have actuallly already had to go to the doctors, due to smoking and alchohol. Teens are still so young, it's upsetting when you hear that one of your friends needs to cut down on the smokes. Anyways, your brother has probably fallen into smoking in order to portray an image..to fit in..or he's been pressured into it.
just like coke and pepsi it has been created as a style for men, mannerism of heroes, even though you are not thinking of smoking a scene in a movie or tv while the hero smokes in a style you are (especially the teen)tempted to smoke,

importantly in the teen age they wants to enjoy the life and they think smoking sex and alchol are the three main (only) ways of enjoying
it all begins with trying to fit in and then the addicion begins....when he goes to sleep...sneak a patch on his butt!!lol
It's something they have control over that is seen as an adult pastime.Unfortunately when they realise how bad they smell and what they are doing to themselves it could be to late.Cracks me up when people say i have one when i get stressed as cigarettes make you more stressed.
i started smoking at 14 and it is hard to quit, mine was curiosity and pier pressure, now its like a stress reliever when i get stressed or upset, i go and have a cigarette, if i could find something else to help with my stress and anger, i would be able to quit, i just cant find that thing
They start it to be ';cool'; that is really it or for some they will try it once and get hooked.

Many teens want to try it and see what the fuss of those who are addicted why. Sadly many get sucked into its addicting ways. My friend my age has been smoking cigs now for 2 years. She tried it and couldnt stop, i tried it and luckliy did not get addicted.

Smoking also if a person gets down and has nothing much to do, they will smoke to have something to do.

Does anyone know a song that deals with teenagers growing up and is confused about where they are right now? ?

I need a couple songs that are about teenagers growing up and I prefer if the songs have some meaning into it.Does anyone know a song that deals with teenagers growing up and is confused about where they are right now? ?
Try ';I'm Just a Kid'; or ';Grow Up'; by Simple Plan. Or maybe ';When I Grow Up'; by Garbage.Does anyone know a song that deals with teenagers growing up and is confused about where they are right now? ?
too many to mention... just off of the top of my head, i can think of Crawling, In The End, and Numb by Linkin Park (i was just listenin to We Made It, that's why they're the first to come to mind)

try maybe asking this in the music section though, (youre likely to get tons of hits on the rock section - rap and hip hop not so much)
the song teenagers by MCR (my chemical romance). It shows what the corruption is in school and what people do. They say those teenagers scare the living s*** outta me. They could care less as long as someone will bleed, and other stuff like that. If you listen closely, you get the story! :-D

    - graphic t's

    - skinny jeans

    - mini denim skirts

    - bermuda shorts

    - colorful polos

    - tube tops

Good luck! Hope I was helpful =]
vector/vexel art is really in right now and looks cool.

the stuff you do have, i don't think a 12 y/o would want. sorry, just honest.

uhm, but kids usually like skinny jeans, hoodies, graphic tees.

just go on big named stores and you'll get the picture.
This is what I wear, and the outfit I made :D

i dont think any kids would want to wear your clothes on ur site, not to be mean but it seems kinda grandma-ish!

Why do teenagers think its so fun to act like little kids?

especially tacky ones. i'm a freshman, and theres soo many kids at the high school who wear dora the explorer backpacks or wear bandaids with spongebob on them and stuff.

honestly, why do teenagers think its cute to wear little kids stuff and act little? Why do teenagers think its so fun to act like little kids?
Maybe they enjoy it. Concentrate on your own life instead of putting everyone else's down. Why do teenagers think its so fun to act like little kids?
Mostly ghetto people do ... Lmfao I used to attend a Regular high school thank god I go to art school ... they do it because everyone else is doing it ... they have to be followers can't make their own style ... they don't know the meaning of individualism. they want to impress others.
when i was in high school everybody had cartoon backpacks they were so small and you couldn't really put anything in it lol

im my junior year i wore batman my senior year i wore diego. looking back on it it was tacky
Most teenagers are in the transition mode with exiting childhood and entering adulthood. Takes some longer than others to ';grow up';. Of course, there are those who do grow up but forever act childish. I guess they think it keeps them young at heart.
because having the kid in them is wayy funnier then growing up to fast

    you only a freshmen.

so your a kid yourself come down a little and enjoy your high school years and being a kid before your thrown into adulthood.
i think its because they think that they are growing up too fast. sometimes the more mature things like dresses and things are SO mature that the want to slow down a little.
You should act yourself and ignore the people trying to become kids because soon they will get picked on :D
BECAUSE ITS FUN..... some things other people dont understand its just life..

    plus spongebob is pretty awesome...

  • Why do teenagers describe themselves as random?

This seems to be the word of the moment and the more random you say you are the more cool you are? I think the teens will look back on this like I have and realize being totally awesome or completely rad is sooo dated and silly teen speak? Why do teenagers describe themselves as random?
like, for sureWhy do teenagers describe themselves as random?
I think the issue is that teenagers sort of struggle to describe themselves in terms of stereotypes most of the time (as in ';I'm kind of preppy'; or ';I'm a nerd';). But of course no one fits into a stereotype perfectly, and so teenagers see the qualities that they have that don't fit into the stereotype or group they consider themselves a part of as ';random.'; For example, my sister (17) is an art student who listens to punk music and smokes. She would consider herself a punk, but she's also kind of ';random'; because she really likes some non-punk music (like Bruce Springsteen).

Saying you're ';random'; is a way to justify any individual quality in a world where your peers expect you to fit into a certain mold. But that's just been my experience.
because we tend to jump from topic to topic quickly.

for example, a group of friends would start talking about the terrible lunches the school has and when out of no where, someone says they are going to go buy a pair of shoes later, it's completely off topic or unrelated.

i guess we think to ourselves too much and blurb out things.

most teens have random moments but i don't really describe myself as random.
Since when did saying we are random mean we're cool? Duh. I'm 14, and that is not the way it is. We are random, because when we hang out with friends, we are wayy stupid, and make up RANDOM crap. Get it? Most teenagers are like that, so that's why we say we are random. Also, it's when someone can change the subject very easily. That is a quality a lot of teenagers have too. (It's kinda necessary for High School) =) Hope I helped.
Teenagers are random because they make stupid sparatic decisions sometimes. They actually caught on. They put the word random on it because people must have been saying it a lot and it caught on. Just like rad its a generational thing that will go by and end up some thing else soon.
im a teen i am sooooo random. being random is cool and unepected and un generic. and i never really notice other people using the word i thought i was the only one.... seriously though.....
It kinda means outta the blue.

    And different?

like if my friends did something like jump into a pool fully clothed id say ';that was random'; like a statement.

I think they describe themselves as random because it makes them seem unpredictable?
what they mean is that they bring up things that have no relation to anything at the moment. kinda compamenting themselves for their funnyness.
    THEY ARE USUALLY THE ';COOL EMO KIDS '; THAT SAY THAT THEY ARE ';RANDOM';
Well because most of the time teenagers do random things and say random things.
    I'm so cool, I'm /dev/random
    same i dont know? i dont know how teens can be ';random';
I dont know but i think its the most annoying word in the world.
I guess so. I heard that a lot of times too...come to think about it...
I think I know the problem..

    your pregnant
mm..i dont knoww..but random can describe lots of types of people ^-^

Can anyone tell me how I can get teenagers interested in cooking?

The more my friends watch reality cooking shows (such as Top Chef and the Food Network), the more often they're asking me to show them how to cook! Top Chef especially is filled with drama and resembles popular teen shows like Real World. Watch an episode together and then ask if they'd like to try making something. Bravo's website always lists the winning recipe, but you might also want to look in your own cookbooks for something similar, but easier for beginning chefs! Good luck! Can anyone tell me how I can get teenagers interested in cooking?
What do they like to eat? Would they be interested in cooking that? CAn you show them that home made food saves money which they can then use for other things? Can anyone tell me how I can get teenagers interested in cooking?
Invite them to help you in the kitchen.

Make cooking fun/interesting - with your presentations...
Make it fun, and it will be some together-time. Look through some cookbooks or magazines and let them have a say in choosing the recipe. Teach them what different kitchen utensils are for. I'm sure they'll be very proud of whatever dish they've made for the family.

Just don't nag. My mother would barely let me in the kitchen because she said I always made a mess. What a shock when she passed away and my father and I had no idea how to cook.

Be patient yet informative. You don't want them eating ramen all through college! :) God bless you for wanting to teach them.
Make it an ';experience';. Don't pick something basic and make it feel like school but take something new and special and involve them so they understand it is a creative process and you can actually express yourself through cooking. Doing it together will also show cooking can be a fun social event that they may want to do with their friends.
quit cooking for them when they get hungry enough they will learn how.
start them off with hot dogs or fried or scrambling eggs and then to stuff like baking brownies cookies cup cakes cakes pies cheese cake and then try making things like mashed potatoes meat loaf stove top stuffing spanish rice or any kind and then something like french toast

do stuff that had directions on the box and then from there show them how u make certain things like pork chops burgers and use easy things like deep frying french fries and onion rings
well, i think you cant get someone into cooking especially teens. if they are interested in it, then they will be interested. if not then dont try and make it interesting for them, they just might not be into that stuff!!!

    i was :D

but, i started off making stovetop stuff like oatmeal and frying hamburgers when i was about 9 or 10 with my grandma so just if someone IS interested, keep a good eye on them, and make it fun! make it like mommy and child time!
    Hmmmm....stop cooking FOR them?
What worked for me was simply this. If you do the cooking, you don't have to do the dishes, clean off the table and so forth. Also if you don't like what I am cooking, learn to cook and make meals also. My children learned to cook at an early age (6 years or so) I started them off with jello, then went to cake, cookies, bisquits, meats, salads and so forth. They would cook to avoid doing the dishes and other chores that follow the meal. Sometimes they would ask what was for supper and if I didn't feel like cooking I would name something that I knew that they didn't like and lo and behold the dears would cook. This isn't flawless, but it worked over all. Most seem to think now that simply nuking something works and is cooking, but it falls far short of the mark. My father worked at making cooking fun. I learned to make bread, cinnomon rolls and so forth from him. We also made calazones and pizzas together. One would make the crust and we would all decorate the pizza. By making this a fun activity, and getting everyone involved it helps break the ice. BTW, the boys as well as the girls learned to cook in both my parents and my own families. I was a single parent for quite a while and needed all the help I could get.

Why cant teenagers view pornographic material?

Teenagers are bubbling cess pools of hormones but are too young to have sexual intercourse. So why arent they allowed to view pornographic material, I honestly cant see whats wrong with it personally. Why cant teenagers view pornographic material?
Because immature minds can't separate porn from reality. Porn is purely meant to be physical, and sexual. The people are objectified, and the scenarios are reduced to nothing more than their sexual aspect. For example there is porn about rape, incest, gang rape. Only a mature mind can understand that these scenarios are not making broader statements about how we should treat women, what women like in bed, or how they should act, and what situations are okay. I heard a 14 year old boy saying that rape was okay if the girl said it was okay at first and then yelled ';No no! Stop!'; during it. Where do you think he got that if it wasn't from porn. Maybe a 16 year old can handle it, maybe a 14 year old can, maybe a 25 year old can't. But since their is no maturity test where we are given an adult card, 18 is the age that is chosen. Why cant teenagers view pornographic material?
because most pornography is about denigrating women and objectifies sex as a means to achieve this.

Permitting pornography to be viewed by teenagers (who despite their - generally - know it all attitude) are impressionable, would expose them to an indoctrination process that would invariably give them a skewed view on people, relationships and sex in general.
Because you arent of age.. There is a reason the drinking age is 21. You cannot buy cigarettes until you are 18 and you cannot enter a porn shop until you are 21. That is when the law deems you mature to handle that kind of responsibility. So, if you are under these above said ages.... you are not mature, by legal standards.. This isnt a personal blow to your age or ego... Just the facts. If you went into a porn shop right now and bought a movie the owner of the shop would be charged with a sex crime. Besides, there are some people in congress that find this somewhat immoral to let children view porn.... I have 2 children of my own and I have to say that I really dont want this to be my child asking strangers this question on the net one day...
Nor do I. Who the hell decided 18 is old enough and 17 too young? The FBI? Has there been a referendum on the subject? A hearing? Testimony of authoritative witnesses? And, for the matter of that, why isn't the voting age 7 instead of 18? As far as I'm concerned kids have as much right as citizens as anybody. Could they possibly be any more irresponsible or hare-brained than their solemn elders who gave George W. Bush two consecutive terms as president?
because, then thats all they keep thinking about, and keep wondering what the real thing would be like, it is widely believed that this promotes aggressive sexual behavior in teens, so they are (in theory) restricted form watching it, we all know they do it anyway,
If there's a will, there's a way. But you know some of it is really disturbing and teenagers really shouldn't see images like that. It can screw them up mentally.
i think it shudnt b that way, i think it shud b that kids are just as much citizens as all they 18+ people, but they must follow their own parents rules, they r gonna do it anyway, why try to stop em
Because they are too young for those things.
I'm 16 and I look at porn all the time with ease. Teens do it anyway.
shoot iam a teen and love xtube justusboys dudetube latinboys justto name a few
Because they screw off to it.
    I agree with Suyash

What is the name of this dialect/accent South London teenagers are speaking ?

Ive noticed this dialect/accent developing here in South London over the last decade or so - to my ear it's a mix of 'traditional' working class Sarf London, some kind of West Indian patois and maybe some other influences (African-American rap would be a strong contender).

Has this been recognised and named by linguists?

A link to some further reading would be good.

ThanksWhat is the name of this dialect/accent South London teenagers are speaking ?
Saaf Landon Council BlockneyWhat is the name of this dialect/accent South London teenagers are speaking ?
VV What Graham H said. Everyone in West Sussex, puts on a South London accent. To make themselves seem hard! Makes me laugh. Cos I'm actually from South London.

The previous answerer is correct to a certain extent; people don't normally ';make up'; their own accent.I have noticed, however, that young people in my area - about 25 miles South of London in West Sussex - DO deliberately use this accent speaking to each other; it's not natural, as can be deduced from the fact that when they speak to their parents or are being polite to strangers - (I'm happy to say that is still common) - they speak in the local accent; nowadays, by the way, the ';local'; accent is ';Estuary English';, which extends from Kent to Essex and over a good deal of the rest of Southern England.

Pee-wee - I'm afraid Cockney is almost extinct, and it's certainly not spoken in South London - and never was.
    the way i sound

i dont know, people dont make up the accent

it's just the way we grew up, just started sounding like that

i dont think american rap has any effect well if it does it's very little anyway.

    words just pop up and everyone is saying it ';seen or skeen';

I hope not! Trouble also is that they try to write in it on here, and it's being used in pop songs-wit chew- for with you. Leona Lewis is on example.
    Hi

    Would the answer be Cockney

    Pee - Wee

Does anyone else think teenagers are WAY too obsessed with dating?

Because I've never been that into boyfriends. Boys, yes, but I've never felt like I HAD to be dating someone. (I'm 20, single, and happy). So, is anyone else REALLY sick of teens being so obsessed with dating? Does anyone else think teenagers are WAY too obsessed with dating?
i'm a teen and i think they are waaayyy to obsessend over datingg!! they think that being a teen means that they are suppose to go out with guy and if they don't it's rlly badd!! Does anyone else think teenagers are WAY too obsessed with dating?
yes i agree with you,and actually share you the situation(20 happy single).as you know teenage hood is the turning point from childhood to adulthood ...so teenagers (with the child mentality)..sees adults doing things(like dating)...so they try to ';PROVE THEIR EXISTENCE'; by doing the same thing..specially dating ,because in this period teenagers have a lot of changes in their physical and mental formation, due to the hormone cycle..and specially sex hormones that grow up highly at that age..so they feel that attracted towards the other sex..

its all emotional...(due to hormones)..so its not that big deal...while adults seek for it with full knowledge seeking stability..!
i was never a big dater, got my first boyfriend just before my 17th bday, and we are still together 2 and a half years later. we are a pretty private couple, so what annoys me is the couples who have to be together all the time, and who fully make out in front of everyone at school. it alienates them from everyone else, and ive lost a couple of good friends because they just forget you once they get a boyfriend. plus its just pretty awkward to watch lol.
i think some teens are but not all of us are. im seventeen and i havent had a boyfriend in over a year. but the thougth of having someone to be with and someone to care about you is nice. sometimes we just want to feel needed by someone.
I totally agree with you. I'm 16 and boys are not everything!
    im a teen[17]

and dating is way over rated...

id rather be single and have fun then be in a relationship where your tied down!
It's just the hormones, it's not an obsession....
Well they have to learn some how.

  • Is it right three teenagers have had to sell their pets to pay for funeral costs?

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/engla鈥?/a>

Well this upset me this morning, so take a look tvm. Views thanks. Is it right three teenagers have had to sell their pets to pay for funeral costs?
It is BS, ask yourself why you never find bodies in the street, do you think they would be left there because the family can't afford a burial?! lol.

Local councils pay for the burials of those who can't afford it.Is it right three teenagers have had to sell their pets to pay for funeral costs?
No it wasn't right they had to sell their pets or all of their other stuff just because the undertakers wanted their money up front, I am glad to see that the undertakers are no longer asking for this but its a bit late now because they have sold all their belongings shame on these undertakers. maybe its a good thing they have sold their pets because they wouldn't be able to look after them looking after three dogs is expensive and I am sure they would have seen they went to good homes. What lovely and brave children they are, Just goes to show how much they loved their mum I hope every thing turns out well for them and they get help with their expenses xxxx.
I read this yesterday and whilst i would say no, it's not right, i would also say it is their right. Without a doubt they loved their Mother so much they will not see her go to a paupers grave. The eldest boy is only 17 and yet the wisdom from that young man and the way he cared for his mum must shame our politicians. He looks for nothing from anyone and will always do the right thing in life. I hope social service stay very far away from them and don't blight their lives!
It's very sad, but the council would have paid for a burial. Many people would prefer a better send off for their loved ones, but can't afford it.

I do feel sorry for them, they must be very distressed and I hope a local business offers to foot the bill for them.
I thought I recognised the names

    http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/news?鈥?/a>

There's news and there's what the journalists make up.
So how else do they pay for the funeral then? Please don't say that the good ole taxpayers should foot the bill. Life's a ***** and then you die.
No definitely not, you'd think other family members would help out, seeing as they are staying with an aunt.
Bloo*dy disgusting. Those kids are a credit to their parents and I feel so so sorry for all they have gone through. How dare they be treated in this way. Bless them.
    absolutely NO!!!!
they should sell the computer instead
Yes it is. They are responsible so they must pay.
disgusting- I hope they will get help and accept it - life has dealt them a double blow
Bet they get the dogs back after that

Is Berlin a interesting place to visit with two young teenagers?

Are you guys kidding? I can't imagine ever being bored in Berlin!

It does depend what you're into. If you want to see any cultural stuff or museums, you are in good hands. They're just excellent. I suppose the thing about Berlin is that the West half of the city is fairly, well, western, while the East half still has more of the bohemian touch. Ideally, you'll have a native of the city to show you around. The wall is everywhere, okay, history's fine. The Reichstag is there, Brandenburg Gate, etc -- you'll find plenty of that. But what really makes Berlin great is its energy. It's a very creative place, and there are things going on everywhere. There's quite a lot of entertainment in English as well, although I guess you couldn't go wrong with the Blue Man Group (I think they're still playing there).

Take a daytrip to the beach at Wannsee, where there are also the fancy grounds at Potsdamer. There's also a thwack of shopping, sure. Head to the Kreuzberg area and have some great Turkish food for a couple of euros. And then again, there's just the people-watching, which Berlin is basically world-class for. :)Is Berlin a interesting place to visit with two young teenagers?
Berlin is a very busy city and is pretty modern - most of Berlin was distroyed in the war so its all pretty much a up and coming metro. I went there several times in my teens with my parents and although we went to the berlin wall and all it was a bit of a bore at that age. Now I would enjoy it much more, but as a teen I was not that into it. Is Berlin a interesting place to visit with two young teenagers?
Perhaps 20 years ago when the wall was up and you could visit the east side. It was fascinating then.

It still has a lot of charm, but probably not so much for teenagers on holiday. For older kids there's wild nightlife and interesting architecture to see.

no not really i went there. even my parents got bored. the only good thing is the shopping center

What diet could help teenagers lose the fat fast?

Even if you lose the weight it will come right back if you do not have the desire and motivation to not only look cute but to be healthy. it is going to take alot of inner strength I can assure you of that.

What Do You Think Teenagers Are Stressed about?

im doing a little research paper about stress and i could use a little help

who do u think is more stressed: teens or adults?

also leave some reasons why u think teens or adults r stressed

thanks a bunch!! : )What Do You Think Teenagers Are Stressed about?
Well Teens stressed or Teen angst is a great deal so we speaking, its something which parents aren't concerned enough. Time has change, people mind set are different. People now days are meaner, sarcastic and will try to make someone fall for unknown reason, so many jealousy, hatred, racism and of course economical problem. It's a common sense, as why kids are stressed out. peer pressure, parents pressure, society pressure; like having a decent relationship, religious, have kids, good job, money and so on.

Teens are in the stage when they are maturing and when they know that these things are gonna happen to them, they freaked out and become depressed. Not everybody get the same support and accommodations.

So there you go!What Do You Think Teenagers Are Stressed about?
in my opinion, teens are mostly stressed about their environment . . .constantly trying to establish themselves in a community/crowd, they battle with their insecurities and persevere in improving their best assets and fortes . . .these are social aspects ..sometimes, finding true friends and family problems also prove to be stressful for common teenagers . .
school, studying, acceptance, friends, family, sex, feelings, the enviornment and economy these days, worries and such

  • What is wrong with teenagers in the USA?

What's the deal with the fact that the majority of you cannot write. Want some examples: Here in yahoo I found a girl that wrote ';I live in a smeller town'; (I guess it's so SMALL that she can't even think right) or another person that wrote ';I here you, girl!';....hello, it's writen ';hear'; as in the verb.

I live abroad and worry that I'm behind with the school program in the US and then I see all of your grammar mistakes and feel some kind of relief.

Please, some one, explain to me why the majority of you are so superficial? What is wrong with teenagers in the USA?
I think maybe it would be from the media grabbing onto what they think is socially ';Cool'; and beating us over the head with it.

Advertisers at this time of year are looking for ways to have you spend money on their products, whether they will be academically beneficial or not. Does any child really need a cellphone or laptop that allows them to watch dvd's, play games, or instantly text their friends when they should be paying attention and getting their studying completed.

We get very little assistance from our government on the matter. In the ';No Child Left Behind'; policy, the teachers and school districts are punished if they do not bring the children to the standard the government expects, yet the government does not give the teachers the tools necessary to reach the goal.

Another major factor is that poverty forces both parents to work leaving the kids on their own. If a child is not told to do their homework, do you think it will get done?

I could go on and on about the possible causes for this alarming trend, but I'm afraid that would take too long. My best advise to you is to have your children educated privately here or abroad. At least in your own mind you will be able to feel you've done the best you could and leave the rest up to them and the character of their spirit.(The character that you helped to develope)

As to whether the majority of us are superficial, I don't believe this to be accurate. I believe you are missing the definition of superficial.

Superficial Implies a concern only with surface aspects or obvious features. Many of us have ideas to where the problem is. It lies deep within the the structure of our government and the lack of respect for one another due to a number of social issues.

We do have many faults. I would be arrogant to think we don't, but, until we work them out, please do not judge the majority of us based on possible typos, slang or other misuses of our language. Judge each one of us individually. What is wrong with teenagers in the USA?
Kids today are lazy.....sad but true. It's a huge pet peeve of mine to see all this ';chat speak'; and improper use of the english language. It does make me sad for the future, but at least my child will be smart enough to know the difference between ';for'; and ';4'; or ';that'; and ';dat';. As a matter of fact...she already is...and she's 9!

Don't stress too much about it, most are only using it in their online conversations. (I hope)
There are teens, then there are teens, much the same as

it's always been. We've entered into to a world of technology

that's moving faster than we can catch up with and our

teens are doing their best to keep up, unfortunately, some

of the NECESSARY niceties (such as math, english %26amp; grammer,

polite/courteous behavior) are missed by a few of these

individuals. As a whole, believe in these young people,

    after all, they'll be leading our world in the near future%26gt;
This is yahoo answers, not grammar school. The Internet has it's own world of grammar that kids and young adults use. Not to mention the fact that sometime it's more keyboarding then grammar being an issue.

I should know as I'm write all the time on the keyboard and have had several typo's.

So just chill out. It's just the Internet it doesn't mean that when they're in school, that they don;t do it right.
too much time spent in front of the tv and/or computer. maybe too much time on the yahoo (answers) site? yes %26amp; no. technology has come to the point now where we as kids, teens %26amp; adults rely on tech to both do our work %26amp; correct our mistakes. by the way? me? superficial? do you know the meaning of the word? and your not? hum! anyone who feels they are above the rabble are often below the rabble themselves, like waaaay below.! double HUM!
Why are you so quick to judge a whole demographic of people you don't even know?
We type too fast and our fingers hit the wrong keys. Also its the internet, we don't have to have perfect grammar. We save that for school. BTW its not that we can't write and what does it have to do with being superficial?
    Your Face!
    I honestly don't know.

I am probably more intelligent than the teenagers on Yahoo! Answers, and I'm only 12. I completely agree with you on the fact that people can't spell.

In fact, if I answered every open question with a typing error in only one category, I would probably be a level 7 or 8.
Everybody makes mistakes on the computer sometimes, and most of the time they don't even notice it. Many of the teenagers on Yahoo! Answers type the way they do on IM or in emails because it is easier and faster. That doesn't mean they're dumb. There are some very smart people out there that are horrible at typing.
Blah,blah...Let me see if I remember all the sorry excuses: 1.blame it to the Internet, yeah right like the net makes people so inadequate.

    2. Typo errors, then you were flunk in typing.

3.The fingers go so fast... then you should use the ';the spell checker';.

    4. It's Yahoo...so all the programmers at Yahoo make you illiterate.

    5. Oh! the net has it's own language...so the Net is actually contributing to the destruction of the English language. No wonder, the Brits think we Americans are morons.

    6. It's nothing get over it, instead of saying, people you need to go to school to learn to read and write? Not to worry about somebody having your same outfit. You don't even live near the fashion capitals of the world!!

    7. It's just the way we communicate. So, to get good at something you practice. We are good up to this affirmation. Practice makes perfection and perfection makes you an idiot, because if you're practicing to be grammatically incorrect, consequently you are what you practice...an IDIOT!

    8. Technology is moving fast, and they sure can't keep up with everything on their shoulder. The job of a son/daughter is to study...what are you breeding parasites. This will lead the world. I do not know what world, because other countries are seeing we are not that perfect as we may try to look. Competition is getting thougher and others are capitalizing in our weaknesses.

Plus, it's not only the grammar, but the whole way of analyzing, presenting and responding a question. In the majority of the cases has no sense..besides saying ';It's just like'; every other word.

In light of this, I declare that our youth's brain (many, many of them) is either fried or just vegetating...

For KG. I find your answer very logical. I took the decision of raising mine abroad years ago, and I can tell you she has grown to be a very reponsible person. Every system has it's flaws. My kids are multilingual and I used to be a corporate person, but after I relocated I stayed home...it made a big difference. The money is not the same, but they are very well rounded, with character and opinions.

I really hope things change at home..for the good.

    Cheers
They just don't care. They don't worry to much about spelling. It's Yahoo Answers not the SAT's exam. Lighten up.
Unfortunately the U.S has a terrible school system. Even Mexican schools are an average of 2 years ahead of schools in the U.S.
I'm an English teacher living in South-America.I teach high school English in Suriname(country).I studied in the U.S and was appalled at the way kids studied. It was sad to see that here kids nowadays don't like to read and write.they rather watch clips or play games. The world is changing and sadly enough so are the mentalities and moralities of the teenagers.Keep on trying your best and be good.Debby

Should teenagers who use fake ID's might as well be considered Illegal Immigrants?

American Citizen or not, teach them the lesson on ID theft and forged instruments.Should teenagers who use fake ID's might as well be considered Illegal Immigrants?
I can see where you are coming from about the situation, but in my personal opinion I think that it should not be considered ';illegal immigration';. It has to do with forgery rather than crossing a physical border.Should teenagers who use fake ID's might as well be considered Illegal Immigrants?

Here's one for you. Kid in a bar couldn't pass his phony id that said he was 18 years old. He looked younger. He was 14.

He offered me $50 for my drivers license, in front of the bar tender. My id said he was 35 years old. When I EXPLAINED that to him, he was smart enough to ask for his $50 back.

Can teenagers buy a money order?

I want to get a money order so I can get something off the net. My parents don't want to pay for it so yeah.

Also the product is 12.39. Can money orders be exact like that? Can teenagers buy a money order?
yesw you can get a money order. they can be made out to an exact amount but you also have to pay a small service charge. Make sure you get a money order and not a monmey wire(theres a huge difference). Just go to the grocery store and ask at the customer service desk. its basically like using a check. Ask the service clerk to help you if you don't know how to fill it out.Can teenagers buy a money order?
    Yes and yes
Money orders can be for any amount. Just go to the counter at a local grocery store, and they will be able to print one for you. By going to a bank, you usually would have to have an account there.

One good thing about bank money orders is that if you are to lose it, you can have them void it and write another one. But if you get one at the supermarket and lose it, it's not insured the same way. So be careful! :)
Yes, It doesn't matter how old you are to buy a Money Order. Yes, it can be for any amount up to a certain limit depending on who issues them.
Most m.o.'s go up to a $ 500.00 limit. Anything under that is o.k. Otherwise you'd have to buy two of them. I sold m.o.'s to teens yes. They can be whatever amount you want. Happy shopping!
    yes
yes, go to the post office, but expect to pay a fee for it, in my home town its $ 1.05 extra
I think you can buy a money order at a store. You can also make it 12.39 if you want. I doesn't matter.
yes, go to your local post office and tell them how much you want the money order for. It's no problem!
yes they can and you can buy them! no id or anything needed, just cash. say its 12.39 and u give em 13 they will give you the change back. good luck!
    yes
Yes you can buy a money order no matter how old you are, and in any exact amount. Just give them the money, plus the fee, and they'll give you the money order.
You can go to the post office too, that's what I do.
    yes they do
Yes, they sell them at the post office.
    yes you can get one
anyone can buy a money order
Yes and Yes they can be for what you want them to be....
yes i think u can. i've never heard of age limit on it. and u can get money order for 1 cent if u needed it to be. just make sure u tell them the excact amount. plus there is also tax.
Yes, go to the US Post Office
Yes it can be exact, and yes you can get your own. You either need a checking account and go to the bank, OR go to like albertsons or some grocery store and they'll do it for you. :)

If teenagers in the 1950's spent allot of time at diners how come they weren't overweight?

I know that diners were very popular with teens back in the 50's and in the diners they ate burgers, fries, coke, ice cream, pies, milkshakes etc, but how come they weren't fat?If teenagers in the 1950's spent allot of time at diners how come they weren't overweight?
...they had to get out of the house to do things...

...no laptop...tv wasn't high tech like it is now...

    ...more dances to go too...

...life was active, then...If teenagers in the 1950's spent allot of time at diners how come they weren't overweight?
A few reasons; the serving size of food was smaller; there wasn't as much chemicals in the food that made it addicting and unhealthy; and teenagers didn't eat in diners as often as you think they did, it was a weekly or monthly thing.

On top of that the teenagers in those times played sports to pass the time. TV was a family thing and was only watched when the entire family was there.
They probably didn't eat as much in quantity. They also didn't have huge leather couches with a plasma in front to let all the fat settle into their sides. Nor did they have video game consoles, or many other technological advances than many Americans spend too much of their time on.

Back then, they walked, biked and enjoyed outdoor activity. That is slowly starting to fade away in this day in age..
Because they certainly didn't have as much technology as we do in this day and age. We could sit in front of the TV all day playing playstation or on the internet, but they didn't have them back then so they would have had to find other things to do. These included social activities such as bowling and rollerskating. And remember their was a lot of dancing going on at diners in the 50's. You don't see that going on at restaurants now days...
Did you also notice what they did after leaving the diners?....Most of them went dancing, and to the beach where they worked off all of those calories....There were many activities that kids back then got into and not only that, they created their own fun and did not sit around playing video games, spending lots of time on the computers and watching TVS. The kids of today are totally different from the kidss 50 years ago.....Times were different in those days.......
One reason they didn't gain too much weight back then was because they kept active with things like dancing, roller skating and bowling... they didn't sit home in front of tv as much and didn't have video games or computers.

Do teenagers of the age of fifteen have the choice of living with grandparents if household is unstable?

    Woah!

Looking at this from the outside, I'm saying ';please go live with your grandparents.'; If, for some reason, they're not available, talk to a school counselor, or a public (Family Services) counselor.

Just get the heck out! That's great that you can see the situation for what it is, but you need to leave!Do teenagers of the age of fifteen have the choice of living with grandparents if household is unstable?
you have to be over the age of 16 to be emancipated, but you can be put in a foster home. Also you would probably need physical abuse to be emancipated
Yes. Or you could try getting emancipated or contacting a social worker to have you adopted.
yeah but it will be hard. u kinda need more then mental abuse.

    %26gt; 45 1 in 80

All ages 1 in 800How likely is it for a pregnant teenagers baby to have down's syndrome?
pretty rare just bc your young has nothing to do with it.How likely is it for a pregnant teenagers baby to have down's syndrome?
It is pretty rare. Older woman after age 35 are more likely to have babies with Downs syndrome.
very unlikely. The odds of having a child born with down's syndrome increases dramatically after 30 (I believe it goes from 1 in 2000 to 1 in 200)
As probable as it is that a non-teenage pregnant woman's baby would have Downs syndrome, maybe slightly lower because as you get older the likelihood is greater, but teenage or early twenties or thirties is all the same

How to get started pet-sitting for teenagers in mesquite texas?

Honestly, I don't think pets would do a very good job sitting teenagers.

If, however, you are looking to get your teenagers started as pet sitters, about the best way is to assemble flyers with some qualifications of the kid(s) and simply go door to door and leave as a hand out. You also might advertise in Craig's List. Also advertise in church bulletins, on neighborhood bulletin boards, etc.

Realize that it is a good idea, for your own protection, to get the kids bonded even if they are just in it part time.

Any teenagers interested in Photography who can share their pictures?

I love to see other peoples work, so if you have pictures, I'd love to see. And you can say how much Photography is fun or how much you love it! Or if it's hard and yeah. Leave a comment! Thanks!Any teenagers interested in Photography who can share their pictures?
I am going to college to be a photographer at the moment, I am 16, so I am still a teenager so i guess i count for this question. Photography takes a good eye, imagination, and patients. My first 3 rolls of film were full of dark spots, sun spots, blurs, and off subject pictures. Even now I will get back a picture and be dissapointed. However I have won a very awesome photo contest that got me into a book in my first 4 months of photography. I also bought my first camera with my second paycheck last year that left me paying off my mother with my other paychecks because I ended up upgrading my flash, film, hardware, cases, tripods etc. Photography is a VERY expensive hobby if you really get into it. Please email me and I will be glad to send you some of my work.

i need to create a web site for itWhat kind of business should i create for my class it must appeal to teenagers ? ?
Most of the teenagers are born in the 90's late 80's You could do some sort of memorabilia shopping website where they find, Goosebumps books, ';Are you afraid of the dark'; Dvds. ';Pogs'; ';Lisa frank stickers'; But an updated versions, maybe like vintage clothing, accessories, etc...

I think that would definitely appeal to me, especially if it had stuff from when I was little, maybe even bring back the 90's style. I've seen plenty of 80's =]What kind of business should i create for my class it must appeal to teenagers ? ?
A green living web site. Maybe it sells energy saving bulbs or solar panels or reuesable shopping bags. Anything green will be popular.

Should teenagers under 16 be aloud to use sunbeds?

I'm doing an individual presentation at school on sunbeds and need some views of adults and their responsibility of letting their child use sunbeds, please can you help?

=] Thank-you xShould teenagers under 16 be aloud to use sunbeds?
No, children should not be allowed to use sunbeds. There is sufficient evidence of the health risks (primarily skin cancer) to mean that any parent allowing a child to do so would be acting irresponsibility. Young people need to be helped to understand that vanity is not worth risking your health for and, more importantly, that a nice tan does not equal good health. In fact, usually, it means the exact opposite.

Plus, why would any parent allow their child to use a sunbed, knowing that their skin will become permanently damaged, resulting in freckles, blotches and a complexion like a prune when they're older?Should teenagers under 16 be aloud to use sunbeds?
More to the point, do people actually find the baked look is attractive? I think a ridiculous sunbed tan (or even worse, liberally applied fake tan) looks silly on women.

Nothing wrong with a bit of colour from the sun but intentionally tanning in a machine just seems bizarre to me.

Anyway my answer is no because it's unsafe as well as pointless.
No, because their skin is thinner and more sensitive to UV, also they are less likely to be educated on how long and how often it is safe to use a sun bed for.

Although really, it's not safe for anybody to use them.
i am afraid it is pretty irresponsible to condone the use of sunbeds in any age group. There are no safe levels of UV radiation in the same way as there ase no safe levels of any other type of radiation, all levels increase risk!
The damage you do to your skin at a young age is more important than later in life. So the more you can do to take care of your skin when under 16 is essential.
Really no one should be allowed to use them because having a tan is never a good thing from a health stand point.
    no

Just me or is this what all teenagers go through?

Many people say that teenagers have no problems and dont worry but its not true teenagers have loads of things on their shoulders like friends, grades, relationships, family worries, money worries etc is this not what all teens go through ?Just me or is this what all teenagers go through?
Teenagers do have lots of things to worry about - especially because it's a growing stage, and you're just entering into a new part of life.

I think that everyone likes to think that other people have less reason to worry or be stressed than them, so that they can feel more important. So adults play down the stresses of teenagers, teenagers play down the stresses of children (why are they so unhappy? they have no idea..!).

Now, do you understand being responsible for supporting a family? Of course not. That doesn't make your worries any less real, or any smaller FOR YOU.

So, objectively speaking, the stresses of an adult might be bigger, but I think that the stresses of teenagers, FOR teenagers, are just as big as the stresses of adults for adults.Just me or is this what all teenagers go through?
Of course teenagers have problems! Who in the world thinks you have no problems? They may seem small to someone else but they are big to you! I have two teenage boys of my own 18 and 15. I have to say they are not followers but they are not leaders except when it comes to doing the right thing. Doing the right thing is not easy in a teenager's life. If there is divorce in the family (which is the case for our family) this is a major concern. If all teenagers could feel confident enough to talk to their parents or a close relative or teacher it would be great. Some one with teenage children of their own or have been through this as a teenager. Express what is bothering/upsetting you. A lot of times my 15 yr old son will come in and I know something is wrong. We have talked many many times. Most of the time he says he doesn't want to talk about. I leave his room and then eventually he does talk to me about what is going on. Now, I have told him I would never lie to him. He may not always like the truth from me and you may not from your parents but it is best to seek guidance from someone that loves you more than life its self. Be open and honest about money, family worries, grades and stop carrying around the burden by yourself. You have so much more things to put your time and effort into than concerns with no answers honey! God Bless!
Yes i think that all teens do go through it and it is hard, im 17 so i have those same worries to but i think that adults don't think about that because they have to go out to work and a family to support etc so don't think that teens have problems of thier own aswell just because they have problems which are more in thier age range so don't worry it's completely normal :)
They do worry about those things, now add the burden of supporting yourself and a full time job,the drama that goes with that plus all the other stuff you mentioned and maybe even raising a family to boot, then you'll understand why your teen yrs are your golden yrs.
    I know!!! All adults think that we have the perfect life when we don't. We have problems with friends and our social life. On top of that, teachers pile homework on us. I'm up until 1am doing hw every night;
ye thats the same with me as well... adults say that being a teen is easy. they dont understand, do they? i have all those problems as well, but adults just dont appreciate that.
The bad news is: yes, you all go through it.

The good news is: you come through it.
ye every teenager worries i can tell you that definitely with exams and that
i know i am having more troubles right now then most adults i know. i think all teenagers go thru it..
Yes teens do go through all that. I am right now
    yep ;)

I have no idea. I don't think Y!A is the best place for them to get advice though. Too many people who give bad advice or are hurtful to them.

Many teens typically look for people to tell them what they want to hear. But I have seen a few who did have a genuine desire to learn and those are the ones I have respect for. When teenagers come in here and ask for advice , do they really listen to it?

Why Teenagers have a particular need for these Nutrients?

Please explain why teenagers have a particular need for these Nutrients?

One Major Nutrient needed for Growth? Proteins.

One Major Nutrient needed for Energy? Carbohydrates.

Much appreciated. 5+ Stars and Good Feedback for Best Answer.

Good Luck!.Why Teenagers have a particular need for these Nutrients?
well actually everyone has a need for those things....especially carbohydrates because the brain can only obtain nutrients from carbohydrates.

For teenagers however the body is developing including the brain so to incourage healthy and normal development of the body (with proteins) and the brain (with carbohydrates) it is important to have those in your body.

Teenagers need lots of calories to support rapid growth. Girls need approximately 2200 calories, while boys need 2500-2900 calories.

Protein is also necessary for physical growth, and should account for 15-20% of total calories. However, protein deficiency is quite rare in the United States, so protein consumption need not be overemphasized unless the teen is following a vegetarian or vegan diet. (although I was vegan as a teen for 6 years and am still vegetarian and have been for 10 years and i turned out healthy)

Adolescence is a period of rapid physical, emotional, intellectual, and social maturation. To support this growth, teenagers need extra calories, calcium, and iron, and sufficient protein.

Iron helps your blood carry oxygen to all your muscles. It helps your brain function and helps your immune system fight disease. Menstruation increases a girl's need for iron. Choosing iron-rich food sources can help keep your body working optimally.

Your body will actually absorb more calcium from the foods you eat during puberty. The increased need for skeletal growth signals your body to ';grab'; all the calcium it can. The problem is most adolescents simply are not eating enough calcium-rich foods to meet their needs. If you do not meet your calcium needs during this critical time when your bones are growing, you may end up with weaker bones that are more prone to fractures. Why Teenagers have a particular need for these Nutrients?
Protein gives the body the materials to build up,maintain and repair the muscles and organs and maintains a proper balance of fluids in the body. It also assists in the production of haemoglobin, the substance in red blood cells that carries oxygen around your body. Protein also creates anti-bodies,cells that fight off infection and disease.

Carbohydrates supply energy to the body.
From personal experience: (i'm a fit teenage guy). i'm not bulking w/ muscle but im just tone. i've thought about taking protein supplements before because some of my really buff friends take them after working out. then i figured that ill just naturally stay the way i am.

as for carbs: i remember being on the wrestling team for my school a year back, and the hardest part of the season were the day-long tournaments. i wished my body had more energy. sometimes active teenagers just want their body get stronger and fitter, as they see athletes on tv.

i think the whole psychology behind this though, is that they see people seen take these nutrients (such as i have seen) and they believe that u can just pile these supplements into your body and itll work better. at least, thats the thinking coming from a teenager who has thought about the same pills
It makes them feel good, its nice to have energy, isn't it?

How teenagers can reduce risky and unsafe behaviours and practices and how to avoid, prevent and overcome?

by better education and trying out sport it makes u happy and consume ur time and energyHow teenagers can reduce risky and unsafe behaviours and practices and how to avoid, prevent and overcome?
Once someone becomes a teenager, they're going to be very stubborn and obstinate. I would say the best way to prevent is to raise with strong morals and a clear view of right and wrong.

A great thing is to have them go to church often, but I don't want to force religious beliefs on you...How teenagers can reduce risky and unsafe behaviours and practices and how to avoid, prevent and overcome?
well talk to your child about it

and ask what they are doing at parties and that

and tell them they can be honest with and dont judge

give them condoms lube provide help dont scared them into thinking ur against them but with them

behavior cant be prevented unless your child has not been outside of house alot, meaning ur child is locked up at home not allowed to go out to the world, kinda bad to do that

cause when they grow up they would be a bit unsocial
I am a teenager I have got ting into my share of trouble but some times it takes seeing unsafe stuff first hand or being around things to realize that isn't a good choice show them what could happen to make them not want to screw up.
Just change the word ';reduce'; in your question to ';avoid';, and your question is answered.

    GC
Best way as far as I know is to avoid it until you have a stable life style.
distract, and thoroughly think before you do is the naturalist way i could imagine
jack off every 30 minutes if your that horny

They do it anyway and you as a parent get the **** over it

    Hi Gelic

Here are some ideas to heal the issue.

    Quick Action Plan for Acne

    1. Massage your skin, where needed, with bergamot, camphor, geranium, juniper, lavender, or neroli essential oils.

    2. Ayurvedic practitioners recommend making a paste of 陆 tsp each of turmeric and sandalwood paste with enough water, and applying to pimples. Also, drink half a cup of aloe vera juice twice daily until acne clears.

    3. Eat an organic whole foods diet, with plenty of organic cooked and raw vegetables, and whole fruits. Reduce animal fats and stressor foods such as caffeine, refined sugars, and alcohol, as well as colas, candies, and frozen and processed foods. Include more high fiber foods.

    4. Drink eight glasses of pure, filtered water daily. Also, daily have two glasses of raw juice, combining carrot, beet, and celery juice, or, carrot, cucumber, and lettuce (not iceberg), and spinach, with carrot predominating.

    5. Add 3-5 drops of crab apple flower essence to pure water and drink during the day. Rescue Remedy庐 is good for stress.

    6. Combine the tinctures of herbs such as sarsaparilla, burdock, and cleavers in equal parts, taking 陆 tsp three times a day. Drink an infusion of nettle several times a day and apply tea tree oil topically. An infusion of calendula mixed with equal parts of distilled witch hazel can be used as a cleansing wash. Steam sauna your face with red clover, lavender, and strawberry leaves.

    7. Useful homeopathy remedies are Pulsatilla, Silicea, Berberis, Ledum, Sulfur, Arsen alb., Belladonna, and/or Carbo veg.

    8. Enjoy full body immersion hydrotherapy treatments such as steam baths, saunas, sitz baths, colonic irrigation, hot and/or cold compresses, and steam sauna your face with red clover, lavender, and strawberry leaves.

    9. Useful supplements are vitamin A, beta carotene, vitamin B complex, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin E, and zinc. Also include omega-3 fatty acids, brewer's yeast, chlorophyll, and pancreatic enzymes with meals.

    10. Expose your face to sun and air at least 30 minutes a day, and exercise daily. Keep your skin clean by washing your face three times a day with soap made from the herb calendula officinalis, or using other alternatives to soap. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. Squeezing pimples or whiteheads may cause infection. Keep the skin free of oil and use water-based products. Get sufficient sleep.

    11. Make facial masks from natural products; leave on overnight to help dry the skin if acne is caused by excess oil.

    12. For long term relief and health be sure to do a colon cleanse. This clears out the toxins in the blood and excess waste in the body. Colon cleansing will healp clear up a lot of issue, expecially acne.

    Cause

Acne may be worsened at adolescence, during the pre-menstrual and/or mid-menstrual cycle due to hormonal action, and when under stress, on contraceptives, eating a poor diet that causes an over acidic system, or taking prescription and non-prescription drugs.

Blackheads can form when the oil combines with skin pigments and gets trapped. Blackheads may suggest the need for better hygiene, or magnesium and vitamin A. Chronic, numerous whiteheads can also form during acne outbreaks, suggesting vitamin B1 deficiency or absorption problems. Consistent raised spots on the outside of the arms and sometimes even the thighs, resembling ';chicken skin,'; may suggest need for magnesium, vitamin A, or essential fatty acids or the need to avoid foods that inhibit the absorption of these nutrients, such as trans-fatty acids found in margarine and hydrogenated oils, such as cottonseed oil and palm kernel oil.

Food allergies, allergies to facial creams, soaps, shampoos, makeup, and excess intake of refined sugars, can all cause or contribute to acne. Certain foods can also aggravate acne conditions because of their high-acid forming effects on the body, especially fried foods, trans fats, iodized salt, alcohol, hot and spicy foods, all processed foods, chocolate, fruit juices, carbonated beverages, caffeinated beverages, and dairy products. Excessive long-term intake of seafood or other high iodine foods may also cause acne in some people.

Coexisting gum problems suggest the need for folic acid. A separate acne condition may occur in women 30-40 years old due to physical exercising or working all day with face makeup, lowered resistance due to stress, or hyper-response to bacteria or hormone problems. Another acne problem, acne rosacea (reddish spots in a pattern over nose and cheeks), may be a sign of low B vitamins or low hydrochloric acid in the stomach.

Best of health to youHELP: How long does acne last for teenagers?
More often than not, acne is stemmed from genetic traits, and it often cannot be stopped. I'm 19 years old, and I only recently stopped getting acne as often as I used to. Still, I occasionally get acne. My best recommendation would be just to wash with normal bath soap twice a day. My acne actually diminished when I did this instead of using special creams, etc.

It is always good to get a cheap reliable fuel efficient car at first. If you do that, the insurance will be cheaper, paying for gas is cheaper, and repair costs are cheaper. You never know if you will crash the first years of driving so its beter to crash a cheap car than an expensive one. I would wait 2 years after driving with a cheap older car to get a newer, more expensive car.

Most people starting to drive get honda Civics, toyota Corolla's, Mazda Protege's, Geo Prizm, Chevy Cavalier, Ford Focus, Pontiac Sunfire, Saturn Ion, nissan Sentra, or older Camry, Accord, and Altima's.

I wish someone had made me see the light when i was dating, yea i made a few mistakes but thank God nothing life compromising. When teenagers come in here and ask for advice , do they really listen to it?
I have no idea. I don't think Y!A is the best place for them to get advice though. Too many people who give bad advice or are hurtful to them.

Many teens typically look for people to tell them what they want to hear. But I have seen a few who did have a genuine desire to learn and those are the ones I have respect for. When teenagers come in here and ask for advice , do they really listen to it?

I have had many emails from teenagers asking my advice and then at a later date emailing me again and actually thanking me for helping them, SOME teens DO come on here looking for REAL advice and some do take our advice to heart. Many kids do not have parents they feel they can turn to and I am Happy and Proud to say I have helped a few not only make wise decisions but get through some pretty tough dilemmas.
