Why is parental pressure on teenagers more harmful that peer pressure??

I've got to write and essay on this so if anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks! Why is parental pressure on teenagers more harmful that peer pressure??
Pressure put on teens by their parents to over-achieve can cause the teens to do one of two things. Either they will go on with it, and they will get good grades or whatever their parents are pressuring them at, or they will give up under the strain and rebel. Either way would cause the teen to be unprepared for the real world, because then they would either not have the backbone to make their own decisions or just give up, like they did with the pressure put on them by their parents. Why is parental pressure on teenagers more harmful that peer pressure??
The reason why is because parents are considered wiser and have more experience compared to peers, who could be considered as equals, beneath, or above you. It all depends on the person's perspective of who's opinion really counts. Half of the time, it is the parent's opinion that counts because that person values and most likely wants to believe that the parent is the one that is right. It might also be because of the idea that they could accuse a parent that they are wrong, but maybe, that person can't say that their friend is wrong... because their friend might be very important to them...

But in truth, I think either one is just as harmful as the other... It really depends on the person and their values...
because the children stress more-so on the daily pressure that they are subjected to by the parents... and the parents tend to be much more forceful on their kids then a child's friends...
Some parents might be so protective of their kids that the kids never learn to grow up and make their own decisions. In other cases, the kids might become super-rebellious.
Possibly because they have a deeper bond with their parents and they generally, trust, for lack of a better word, their parents more becuse of that bond
Teens love to say no to their parents, love to rebel. Parents say no, teens say yes.
