Why do people judge, criticize, or complain when teenagers make babies when the ?
main stream media is saturated with sexual content? Is it do as I say not as I do?
Why do people judge, criticize, or complain when teenagers make babies when the ?
It seems that most people are ok with teenagers having sex... as long as they don't get pregnant. I think those people need to realise that pregnancy is the natural outcome of sex, and that no birth control is 100% effective. The main problem with today's sex education is that children are taught that as long as they use birth control, everything will be fine. I don't see how they can expect to teach children about the joys of sex from a ridiculously young age, and then expect there to be no teenage pregnancies. And so much for pro-choice - it seems, if you're a pregnant teen, the only right choice is an abortion.
Young mothers need the support and guidance of society, not judgement. Some people will complain about having to pay taxes towards welfare support, but isn't that what it's there for? Helping those who really need it? A reduction in teenage pregnancies will never happen until the liberals start mentioning 'abstinence' more in their sex education lessons. Why do people judge, criticize, or complain when teenagers make babies when the ?
You are absolutely correct - in that the media is full of tv programs about teens with adult situations. So is there any wonder that teens think they are adults, and that it is okay to engage in unprotected sex, be entitled to all the latest gadgets and be disrespectful to their parents?
BUT - at the end of the day - if teenagers want to be regarded as adults, then they need to start acting responsibly. They need to recognize the difference between real life and the dramas portrayed on tv. They can't have it both ways - being supported by their parents, and disregarding any of their wishes or plans for them. If they want their own lives, then I say -go on out and make them for themselves! No harm in getting a job, putting yourself through college and purchasing your own laptops, cell phones and latest fashions.
Time to grow up, kiddies!
Yet again, why do they continue to complain about teenagers having children; when it is ‘apparently’ it is against “God” to have an abortion. There are no answers to these questions because there is too much hypocrisy, too many opinions.
It’s a huge double standard; they are condemned if they have the child condemned if they don’t. Humanity is a mess. We have preceded far beyond logical thinking, yet with all the knowledge at our hands; what do we do with it? Read gossip magazines, watch the rot box, consume frivolous material things etc. We have everything, yet we act as though we know nothing. In the 21st century it is nothing but an embarrassment.
So are you blaming the media for the instances of teen pregnancy? That seems wrong. Teenagers may be naive but they aren't stupid. Teen pregnancy is usually caused by pure carelessness, not by watching some TV show saturated with sexual content. That's the same as saying kids are violent because of video games. It's a cop-out that parents use so that they don't have to feel responsible for their children's actions.
I don't think anyone really expects that teenagers WON'T have sex. It's just that we expect them to use the proper birth control. Especially in our day and age when it is so easily accessible.
Because other first world countries have less puritanical ideas about sex, and yet they have lower teen pregnancy rates. Take a look at France - when I was over there it was perfectly normal to see images of topless women in advertising. Yet they have a lower teen pregnancy rate than the US. There's obviously some other factor at work, like better sex education, better access to birth control, better parenting or something else.
The media is also saturated with crime drama depictions of people murdering others, yet we don't excuse murder for that reason. We presume that the average post-pubescent human is capable of thinking for herself and not making stupid choices merely because someone on television did it.
i started having sex from 14 but i always used birth control. i know numerous girls that got pregnant here in England to get a free house and benefits. They even say this was the reason why they did it.
Me having sex didnt bother anyone else as i was careful. Yeah sometimes birth control fails but not that often compared to being downright careless
everybody judges im judging by sayin this i alone judge far less than everybody else. people just have society to blame if everybody wasnt tryin to be common and like everybody else then we would be able to smoke weed in public so **** this country and have a good day.
Well Germany is just as saturated with sexual content and it is one huge city of 80 million considering the size of the country and the population number and yet somehow teenagers her manage to put on a condom. Far less teen pregnancies.
Yea it appears that we like to imperialise others with our views.
If you're hinting about the Palin case all I can say is her response should simply be ';I can raise my daughter in any way I choose but I can't force her to conform to my views';
Because society loves to control younger people and every generations sees it as their right to ';SAVE'; the current younger generation.
Adults know how to have sex and not make babies, we're exposed to the same media-rot as they are... do you think sexy commercials are why they have sex? I thought it was hormones...
We are concerned with babies raising babies. We don't need a generation of welfare mothers.
.......and we do know that there are contraceptives.
Enjoying sex doesn't = having babies which the tax payer can look after.

Do you have visions of your babies as teenagers?
I just saw my son with sagging jeans and a backwards hat with a skateboard. lol
What do you see?
I haven't had any of my girls yet. I don't think I can cope with the image of their beautiful teenage selves.Do you have visions of your babies as teenagers?
LOL!
No, I have MEMORIES of them as teenagers.
All in all, I had it pretty easy with my sons, they were good then and are good in their late 20s now.Do you have visions of your babies as teenagers?
i have a hard enough time picturing him at 4-7 let alone a teen...
hes 11mths old now and loves to climb on ANYTHING that will get him that much higher a reach... he has a goof ball since of houmor and ... likes to explore things like a remote with microscopic attention.. so we think he going to be the kid to take apart the DVD player kinnda kid...
so we plan on some salvation army stops for electronics he CAN tear apart.... nip that in the bud...
i see him as a funny outgoing talkative kid..... but he does have a birthmark on his face... so if it dosent fade (even tho we LOVE it) i worry he might get teased.... and that may crush his spirit... but im hoping he'll use his houmor about it.... and get people to laugh it off...
he has a red strawberry dot amost center on his nose.... so Rudolph the red nose kid is the dread i have.... tho i hope he'll have good comebacks like .. hey you better watch out or i wont bring you presents... or i wont lead santa to your house....
I have pictured my daughter at all ages in life. I remember when she was born I pointed to her left hand and said ';aww this is the finger she is going to wear her wedding ring on';. Damn hormones! looking back, I must have been crazy!. I pictured my daughter saying ';I hate you Mom and running out the door'; I picture my daughter doing all the things I did as a teenager. Scary but reality.
It's funny, but I cannot picture our son at any age other than the one he is right now. I am pretty sure that even when he reaches forty, I will still see the little boy face I see now. He's 11 months old and his face will remain so forever, I think.
Funny you ask this. I am watching Oprah right now and it is about talking about sex with your child. It was giving me chills knowing that this day will come for me and my kids soon enough! Wow its amazing
I imagine my kids will be mad at me for never letting them do anything unsupervised.

Have any teenagers been brought up with Christianity?
What are your memories of it in childhood? How did your parents introduce you to your religion?Have any teenagers been brought up with Christianity?
i was raised as a christian, but we weren't really practicing. we didn't go to church, not even on easter or mother's day. when i turned 18, i got a higher understanding of many things and the bible didn't make as much sense and it seemed to become slightly contradictory. i later denounced christianity and my mother hit the roof, but i could no long ignore that christianity was not for me. so i'm not a christian, i'm agnostic- i believe in God and that's it. i've neve felt closer to God than i do at this point in my life.Have any teenagers been brought up with Christianity?
Ya, i was totally brought up christian. My parents are religous and we have just always gone to church and sunday school. Its important for a young child to be introduced but when the kids start growing up is when church really becomes important. I know i went 2 a church until 6th grade, and the kid program there was GREAT, but the teen program was AWFUL- so we switched to a church that has an amazing teen program. I was confirmed through the first church in 6th grade before switching. Before the other church i mean i believed in god but it never affected me. Then we switched to the great church and it changed my whole life. they started introducing me to god as a friend and stuff. Then i started to go to bible study, and i went to bible study all this year and ya IM A CHRISTIAN :) ya. But my parents also acted like christians, we dont have huge family issues or anything, both are nice parents who are great and supportive and leave by example :) thats my story. So becoming really religous and having that relationship with god was my choice, and its what I wanted. i have a sister who comes to church believes in god and stuff but isnt as religous as i am, she kinda doesnt care. so my parents let me choose which is important
I went to church with my parents and family and went to Sunday school, which was actually pretty fun. We would do arts and crafts about events that happened in the bible and when church ended they would give us a snack like cookies and the adults would have coffee and the kids would have lemonade or punch or sumthing. my family and i stopped going to church except for Christmas and Easter after we moved so we're not that religious anymore. we still say like a 5 second grace at dinner but i'm not really that religious. i believe in god and stuff but i do ';bad'; things like cuss and crap like that.
wel im catholic which is just like christian except stricter
but actaully in my family all we did was go to church like 1 a month pretty bad right. and my parents are laid back and arent strict like i can go out and everything. we just say were catholic since thats her religion and how she was raised up so im catholic to because i also belive in god
I am being forced to sit in Sunday School every Sunday. And then during the Summer I have to sit through the actual service. =P When I get into 7th grade I have to do Catechism. It's when I have to take note of what the sermon is talking about in Church. I have to write a page on what he meant all that fun stuff. And then I have to go to the classes every Sunday night until the 9th grade. Hooray can't wait.....NOT.
im 14 and a Christian! my daddy's a pastor so church is(not so much anymore) a major part of my life. i was baptized by the bishop(head of the methodist churches in certain areas such as mine ca/nv) as a baby. being a pk(pastor kid) is hard and for a while i was under the ';perfect'; deffinition but now am slowly leaning towards the ';screw up'; deffinition. God is still and always be #1 in my life even though i don't go to church as often as i should right now(my parents and brother are at church right now! lol!) and im at home! so church and God just came instantly into my life since the day i was born. not necessacerly because of choice though! hope this helps! :)
well i was baptized catholic, and i had to go through all the stupid traditions like first communion and being confirmed. i had to go to religious education classes once a week, and up until i was 12 we went to church like every sunday.
but i dont believe in that religion. its not that i dont believe in god, i just dont really agree with catholic ways. the rest of my family is still religious including my younger brother and sister and my mom refuses to believe that i dont want to be catholic. so i have to go to major events, like my brother's first communion, but thats about it. we also go to the christmas eve mass.
i mean its whatever, my mom is a once a year catholic, and she gets on my back for not being catholic enough.
i'm 14 and i'm a Christian , in fact i just came home from church. my parents were Christians when i was born and i've gone to church since then, i accepted Jesus as my savior when i was 5 and was baptized at 10 i love Jesus and i love being a christian. church is wonderful and i love to worship and sing and read God's word and praise his name !!
My bestfriend was baptized and her mom took her to church every sunday. Then when she was 3 she was enrolled in a sunday school-preschool typed thing. [she went to that while her mom was at church on sundays.]
then she was put in PSR because she goes to public school. and now shes on her way to being confirmed.
im 21, im a christian... we did the whole church thing, but i learned more about the bible from a kids bible. We also sang songs like ';Jehovah'; and such. We had this one tape of a dummy [[like a ventriloquist]] who sang biblical songs]]
i remember the songs the most...
To the girl above me i went through a period of time where i hated God. Ive studied evolution. I happen to believe in both creation and evolution. I believe mutation is what causes evolution. God creates that change. God creates evolution... Just my personal opinion though...
Ive been going to church for as long as i can remember. the only time we didn't go was when my mom was pregnant and threw up a lot. my grandpa was a preacher and my grandma played (and still does) the organ during worship service. i wouldn't trade my Christianity for anything in the world.
They made me sit in church. Every christmas they would ask me ';What is Christmas REALLY about?'; and I would say ';Jesus'; and they would be proud of me. I was put in a sunday school class.
A few years after that I stopped believing in God. It just seemed to unreal. I started studying evolution and so now that's what I believe in.
My parents don't really believe in much of anything. They never told me anything about God, religion, Jesus or anything of the like. I found religion on my own in Middle School. I went to church with my best friend. That's how I got started.
was christened when i was a baby.
sunday school when i turned 7.
baptised at 12
going to church every sunday.
if i change religions, my family will disown me. seriously, no joke. i tried wiccan before, and i still have scars, emotional and physical.
My moms best friends husband was a deacon at a church, and then we started going. I didn't like it until I had the personal relationship w/ God for myself. But other than that, good memories.
i went to a holiness church so i had to sit down and listen to the preacher. and i went when i was 5 days old. and i wouldnt change it for anything..
never really had a religion
my dad is christian my mom is protestant
we celebrate christmas and easter and stuff but ive neevr gone to church really
Yeah, I'm 12 and I go to church sometimes. My grandma is pretty religious, but noone else in my family really is, including me.
We always prayed to god before dinner and before we went to sleep. I was baptised when I was a baby, so there was no real 'intro' to the religion.
My parents let me figure out religion on my own. I actually think its really great that they did that.
i was raised as a christian, but we weren't really practicing. we didn't go to church, not even on easter or mother's day. when i turned 18, i got a higher understanding of many things and the bible didn't make as much sense and it seemed to become slightly contradictory. i later denounced christianity and my mother hit the roof, but i could no long ignore that christianity was not for me. so i'm not a christian, i'm agnostic- i believe in God and that's it. i've neve felt closer to God than i do at this point in my life.Have any teenagers been brought up with Christianity?

What are some good party game ideas for an outdoor night time party for teenagers?

Capture the flag is always a night time favorite. You use clear jugs (milk, bigger water bottles, etc) full of water and drop a glow stick inside (a different color for each team). Then set up the boundaries and the rest of rules...it's so much fun!!!!What are some good party game ideas for an outdoor night time party for teenagers?

What is/are the best investments for teenagers?
What is/are the best investments for teenagers? What is/are the best investments for teenagers?
Invest in Silver, often called ';the poor man's gold';. Silver used to be a monetary metal, and maybe some day it will be again. Back in 1980, gold sold for 850 and silver sold for 50. Then, one ounce of gold would buy 17 ounces of silver. Today with gold near 900, one ounce of gold will buy a whopping 55 ounces of silver. It seems to me that silver, in terms of gold, is ';too cheap.'; Silver will continue to be a great investment for at least a few more years because of these factors: (1) US Dollar is declining in value, (2) Fed continues to lower interest rates, (3) Inflation is rampant mainly due to the fact that the US Dollar is declining and other countries economies are growing rapidly, (4) Deficit is growing, (5) China and other countries want to diversify out of the US Dollar and into gold/silver, (5) the bull run in gold/silver has been strong for 5 years now and has yet to reach its final parabolic phase.
Silver has made about 40% annually since 2002, and will continue to make that much until nearly everyone has heard about it and feels confident about investing in it. The FINAL TOP is nearly in when you hear it on the nightly news almost daily or it appears as the cover story on Business Week, Newsweek, and/or Time Magazine. This usually goes with the theory that everyone that will buy in has bought in, therefore, what you are left with are mainly sellers. Until then, you will make very good money in Silver.
Silver is EXTREMELY easy to buy and sell. Just go to your local coin shop and ask for ';silver bullion';. You want to buy 1oz or 10oz bars. Don't mess with the old Peace or Morgan dollars because the buy/sell margins are higher, plus there is less demand for them from a coin dealers perspective. If you have a trading account, you can buy silver with ticker symbol ';SLV';. The great thing about SLV is you don't need to store it physically and you can trade it immediately. What is/are the best investments for teenagers?
I dissagree with property. Home values average only about 3% per year which is the same as inflation. The stock market is best for returns, but you have to diversify. I would suggest an ETF that tracks the total market. You may not make a ton of money, but it's a good starting point. Vanguard sells some with very low expense ratios. That would be my suggestion. Otherwise ishares offers similar ETFs.
A stock index. It's a basket of stocks that are held rather than bought and sold on a whim like in a mutual fund. The operation fees (a percentage the creator gets which is how the creator gets its money) of the indexs are often back loaded so you pay the creator of the index when selling and are generally much cheaper than a mutual fund. The only trouble is some indexes require more money per share than what a teenager can afford. That's where ETFs come in. Some track these indexes and yet require less money to get involved with them. Over the very long term they can build up and that's why being a teenager is the time to buy. Let's say one put down $1,000 on an ETF at aged 16 and it grew 9% compounded average for 50 years. At that time it would be worth $74,300. At 12% (the historical average of the SP500 over about the time) it would be worth $289,000. If one could aquire $20,000 at age 16 at 9% interest it would be almost $1.5 million and at 12% interest it would be almost $5.8 million. That basically means you used $20,000 to fund your retirement or at least most of it.
Of course the sad part is, most 16 year olds don't have access to $20,000. They do probably have access to $3,000 a year for 7 years. At 9% that's still $1.2 million at and $4.3 million at 12% age 66. With a Roth IRA (starting at age 18), there is no taxes when taking that money out.
Your first option should be to fund fully a retirement account. If you do this, and you have extra cash, then one of the best things you can do is open a DRIP Plan.
These powerful investment plans are seldom talked about because brokers make very little money when they suggest them. Yet, they have proven to be one of the best, if not the best, long-term strategy on Wall Street.
They are perfect for small investors, as well as big investors. They are safe and allow you to not care about whether the market is going up or down. They are a must for any serious investor.
I strongly recommend looking into it. They are great plans.
buying stock. it will build up faster than anywhere else you would put your money
I don't know what these people are thinking saying property. 1) You can't legally sign a contract, so can't buy property. 2) I think you are thinking about investing a significantly smaller amount than a property would require.
Try a savings account, and maybe a CD with your bank. Consider opening an account with an investment firm. One of your parents will need to be on it as well, but that isn't a big deal. Start with simpel money market investments and watch the money grow. There are programs that are specifically designed to save for college expenses or other major life events.

A small piece of property, far out enough that you can afford. And then just hold on until your old age. Don't sell.

Is curves the fitness club thing for teenagers that just want to work out and get into shape also?
I have one here where i live and i was wondering if i would be aloud to join there. Is curves the fitness club thing for teenagers that just want to work out and get into shape also?
You could join if your mother or aunt or female relative over 18 was a member. It's mostly ';mature'; women. It's a very non-threatening environment, positive attitudes. Just depends on what you are looking for.Is curves the fitness club thing for teenagers that just want to work out and get into shape also?
Its mostly older ladies but there are some teens there also. My daughter who is only 12 goes with me and works out too.

My husband and I have 3 teenagers. Our grocery bill runs around $150 a week. I clip coupons but don't find
alot that are of use to me. I hear about people using coupons and not having to pay nearly anything for their groceries. Granted, I don't hear of many of these people but even so where are all the useful coupons? How much are other families of 5 spending on groceries? That $150 includes paper products, laundry items, %26amp; cleaning products. My husband and I have 3 teenagers. Our grocery bill runs around $150 a week. I clip coupons but don't find
maybe try shopping at a store like sams club or costco where you can get thinks in bulk for cheaper, hopefully they will last longer and you won't have to stock up as much each week.My husband and I have 3 teenagers. Our grocery bill runs around $150 a week. I clip coupons but don't find
you have to get more than one kind of newspaper. then you just clip all the coupons and file them by expiration date. then wether u need it or not u buy it anyway with the coupon and just stock up on stuff. dont forget coupons you can download off the net. also you have to go to a few different grocery stores. btw with 3 teens 150 a week seems pretty good
wow, i think that sounds really awesome. we don't even have kids and we spend that much sometimes. you are doing awesome. and no, i've never had much use for coupons either. i have noticed that they are almost always for the more expensive brands, and if you just get a store brand, or a special, it is cheaper than using the coupon anyway!
my famil of four spends about 200 a week. i thin kyour doing pretty good.
I don't live with a family of 5 now- but I do know a few people who do.
Often they will buy generic goods rather than name brands, and if it's more price-effective they will buy in bulk.
Since you have so many people to take care of- 3 of them being teens- you may find it worth your while to join something like Sam's Club or Costco. That will make it easier for you to find bulk goods.
Good luck!
$150 a week comes to be $600 a month for 5 people. That isn't too bad, but where are you buying your groceries? If you are shopping on weekly basis at a supermarket than you may be wasting money. You can save money by shopping at a wholesale club (like costco) once a month. Buy everything you need once a month.
How about having your teens help you pay for groceries by getting a job.
I think this would help the most.
And buy in the shape of meals-meaning schedule out what you'll eat for that week and buy only that plus a few snacks and so forth.
Monday/Chilli
Tuesday/ Tacos
Wed./ Spagetti
You could look at that and see that you'd need around 3 pounds of ground beef/turkey for each meal.
I find that this saves me alot of money when I plan for meals.
Go to www.save.ca, you'll find free coupons there and they'll actually be mailed to you, free of charge but don't expect to find HUGE savings, maybe around $5.
Well, before my brother got his own place, we spent a lot!
He was in highschool/ college.. and im in middle school/ high school. we were both into sports.. we both eat a tremendous amount because we just do. lol. try going onto the websites of the places you buy from. they might have some good ones!
I think you are doing really well! Have you tried the grocery game. It gets pretty good reviews.

Well I am upset after reading your question (lol). My fiance and I usually spend 100 dollars a week on groceries including paper products etc. We shop at walmart and do not use coupons as we cant find any that help much. So we spend 50 dollars less than you do and its just 2 of us. You are doing pretty good I think
My family spends about a $100 weekly on groceries for the four of us,and I don't use coupons at all for the same reason as you.I shop Save-A -Lot,Aldi's,and the Dollar Tree for our groceries, paper products, spices, canned goods, and soap products.
Try joining a coupon club. I tried it once. You can find them online. You clip your coupons, keep the ones you want and put the rest in an envelope and mail it to someone. They take out what they want and put in what they dont want and send it to the next person and so on until it gets back around to you. Having people in different states helps. My mother is in another state and she and i trade off coupons. Also buying store brand or off brand saves some, as well as buying in bulk. It might cost more upfront but not in the long run. And I save alot using my Kroger card (if youre near a Kroger). Randalls is a more expensive store as is HEB. Wal-mart doesnt always have the lowest price but theyll match or beat any competitors price.
For myself, three teenage girls, and two cats; my monthly budget is set at $300. I normally send around $60 a week, so I am usually under the monthly budget. I also get a bonus, because I get 10 cents off my gas purchase for each time I spend $50 or more at the store each time.
Anyway, I bargain shop for our needs. I will only buy name brand products as long as they are the same price or less then the generic brand, otherwise I get the generic brands. I buy in bulk only if it cost less in the long run, and it wont go bad before getting used. (If you buy a product only to have to throw it away later, then you just wasted your money.) Sometimes I will find that buying the smaller can actually costs less then the larger can. Take a calculator along with you and divide the cost of the product by the size of it, and you will come up with the cost per size of the product. Such as this: if a can of beens cost $1 for a 16oz can, and 25 cents for an 8oz can. Your best buy would be the 8oz cans. $1 divided by 16oz = .06 cents an oz, while .25 cents divided by 8oz = .03 cents an oz., which is half the price per ounce then of the larger can. Of course it wouldn't always be that simple, and that is why I suggest taking the calculator along to help you out. As for meats, I only buy them when they are on sale, and usually that is when they are two for the price of one, or at half or less then the normal price. Meets normally go on sale the same days each week, so check to find out when they normally go on sale and plan your shopping on that day. Can fruits last longer, and I don't have to throw any out due to spoilage. I only buy fresh fruits and vegetables when they are in season, because this is the time they are at their lowest price. I can and freeze what isn't used right away, so they don't spoil and have to be thrown out. I also grow a small garden during the Summer, which not only helps provide food, but is therapeutic for me. I hunt in the winter, which helps bring in some meets, and being in the woods is also therapeutic to me. Use a shopping list and buy only those things on your list. Stores put products out on shelves to encourage you to buy the more expensive products, and to buy products that you really don't need, so by using a shopping list, and looking for bargains, you may find out that you don't need to clip coupons anymore, or at least very little.
The use of coupons are not what they are cracked up to be. Some stores offer double coupons, but they only honor up to $1.00 total for each coupon. They fixed the loophole they used to have where one could go into the store with a hand full of coupons, and come out of the store with over $200 worth of groceries while paying very little or nothing at all. I remember a time when a store actually had to pay the customer money back, because of the store's policies and the types of coupons the customer used at the time. The store quickly changed their policy after that incident, and it never was repeated again. There is still one trick you can do at some stores, and that is taking along the store's competitors advertisements. If the competitor is advertising the same product for less, you can show it to the cashier and get yours for the same price if they still have their ';Beat the Competitor's Price'; policy in force. Buying in bulk is only useful if you can get a significant savings for the extra travel, and that is getting harder to do with each increase in the price of gasoline. Even so, you could save yourself much many if you can buy a years supply of paper product, and other non parishable products at a significant savings. The question remains if you have a large enough vehicle to transport all these products home, if you have the room to store them at home, and enough money to purchase them all in one shot. There are many other more tricks, but they are too numerous to mane them all here. These are the most common ones that you will need to help you out to start saving now. Good luck.

150? thats great!
my family of 3 spends 250 every 2 weeks.
try aldi if you have on near you
that saves my family tons of money!

My family of 5 about 100 a week. Its actually really tough to cut it down to that much. I started at 150 too, but then I decided to cut back. Instead of cupons look for other ways to cut down. Brand name items are more expensive, but they are the same thing. Its all physcological. If you really feel you cant do without the Brand name then just go ahead and buy it. Other things are buy the things on sale. Sometimes things are really on sale, try to stock up on those. Also, go to a better grocery. Not the local Stop and Shop. Try Costco or Sams club. They buy things in bulk so it is easier for them to sell it at a lower price. Hope it helps.
There are several sites like this.. http://grocerycoupons.net/ and Kroger doubles on certains days. I save a lot of money on groceries by buying stuff like sugar, flour, cereal at Sam's club.
I think that with three teenagers and all of your non-grocery products, you are doing pretty well if you do all of your shopping at the supermarket. We are also a family of five with two teenage boys (basically living, breathing food vaccums) and I spend about $100.00 per week on all of those items. I buy paper products, laundry items, and cleaning products at warehouse stores(Smart %26amp; Final, Costco, San's Club) although I generally make my own cleaning products using mostly amonia and white vinegar (much cheaper and no dangerous chemicals-recipes are easy to find on the internet). I also buy many of my groceries at the local Grocery Outlet (it is a store that sells overstock items), the prices are very much lower than the usual supermarket. When I buy groceries, I buy on sale and stock up my pantry. I also buy meats and cheeses on sale and pop them in the freezer. When the turkeys go on sale at Thanksgiving, I usually get three and put two in the freezer. Around Christmastime, flour and sugar go on sale, so I buy enough to last for the coming year and I store it in those big buckets that frosting comes in at the store bakeries (they will give them to you for free if you ask- they need a special opener that you can buy ay Home Depot and the buckets and lids last for years and years). After New Year's Day, spiral sliced hams usually go on sale, so I buy two or three and freeze those also. I find that there are very few coupons that I can use, but by planning ahead, buying on sale (sometimes by the case) and using my pantry and freezer, I can keep our grocery costs down.sunscreen

my famil of four spends about 200 a week. i thin kyour doing pretty good.

Good luck.

150? thats great!
my family of 3 spends 250 every 2 weeks.
try aldi if you have on near you
that saves my family tons of money!
http://www.aldifoods.com/us/html/service鈥?/a>
My family of 5 about 100 a week.
I find that there are very few coupons that I can use, but by planning ahead, buying on sale (sometimes by the case) and using my pantry and freezer, I can keep our grocery costs down.
Open casting calls in london for teenagers?
I am looking for any open casting calls for musical thatre, theatre, T.V and movies I can sing and act and i can dance a bit. I have been doing singing and acting for a long time!Open casting calls in london for teenagers?
Unlikely. Roles for teens are rare. If you want to be an actor in the UK you almost have to go to university or professional academy and study acting,

What do you think about teenagers dressing gangster as a style?
I'm just shocked to see teenagers male or female dress so imature looking. Iv even seen 25 year old men and wimen dress ghetto, gangster or whatever you wanna call it these days. I just wanna know what people think about all that. What do you think about teenagers dressing gangster as a style?
Oh my god I find this so annoying. I'm in high school and there are so many people that dress like ';gangstas';. Personally I find it somewhat offending. The want to dress up like gangsters and act like total bad asses but in reality people in gangs kill and rape innocent people. These individuals wearing the clothes may not be in an actual gang but to wear the clothes like gang members makes it seem like they are idolizing them. What do you think about teenagers dressing gangster as a style?
I know right... I don't understand why you would dress that way when you're not a gangster... wannabes... but then ';ghetto'; ';gangster'; style is driven by Hip Pop culture... look what's on MTV... Hip Pop is the new Pop so it's understandable I guess... but still I don't like it.
I think it makes them look low-life and uneducated...
Sadly,appearance does matter..well to a degree.
You're not going to get a good, solid job if you go into an interview dressed in jeans that are practically at your ankles.
It's incredible immature and ridiculous.
People need to grow the hell up.
gangsters are just UGLY!!!!!! they make me wanna puke
ugh i know...i especially hate how ghetto girls dress
ganster=gross ter!!

How could you approach your mom and tell her that you and your boyfriend want a baby but you only teenagers?
I mean what I am saying that I am only 17 and my boyfriend is 18 and he wants a baby by me. Yes I want to give him a child but I don't think that I am ready right now, maybe when I finish school. I love him so much and I want to be able to give him whatever he want even though it a child but if it just happen that mean it was meant to be. But come to thinking I really do want a baby someone that is apart of me that take my features, but I am little confused what should I do or say?How could you approach your mom and tell her that you and your boyfriend want a baby but you only teenagers?
Listen to you Heart-
I had a baby when I was 17. I know you could do it. You would make a Great Mom! But if you want to be the best mom. Finish School, and go to college. I love my daughter more then anything in the world, but it is so hard for me to go to college. I'v been a few times, and I really really want to go back, but I am working full time trying to keep a roof over Our heads right now. You are still young, you not sure if yall are ment to be together. There are sooo many things I would love to do, like travel, and college but just can't. No more sleep, no more spending money on clothes for myself. I would not trade her for the world.
My point is, you sound like a really smart girl. You know what you want out of life and what your dreams are. Follow them. Then have a child. That way you won't live life wondering what it would have been like if you could have done this, or that. A child is a big big responsibility, and even I somtimes feel like the stress is overwhelming.
Life will bless you with a special one, someday. Wait till you are married, and have a Good career ahead of you. Being a mom is a never ending job!
Good Luck in whatever you choose.
Life has alot in store for you, Live out your dreams and be the best you can be!How could you approach your mom and tell her that you and your boyfriend want a baby but you only teenagers?
You don't. You need to let yourself fully mature first.
Tell him you are not ready. It will make things easier if you both finished your education and have stable income, then you have a child. Make sense?
Before you two have a child of your own, you should be able to live independently. This means at least having a place for you and him and the baby to live. You know, the housing, the baby(accessories, clothings, medical expenses) cost a lot. Some young couples ended up divorcing/separating because the tension and anxiety brought by financial pressure. You want to think ahead.
If he really loves you, he should respect you and love you in a wiser way. Real love has respect. He should be able to love you with respect to your thoughts and concerns.
wait till your older plan on getting married first before you think of kids if he loves you he will wait and remember you have a kid that means no party's,going out, getting up 3 times a night to feed the kid getting your own place to live and getting a job to buy diapers and food you will have to drop out of school to take care of the baby keep that in mined.
OK fine. I really do understand that U want to give him everything he wants. But trust me, having a baby isn't just a thing of today n forget about it tomorrow. It is a BIG decision. U R right. Finish school first. To be going to school n thinking about ur baby..... it makes u lose concentration. U have a whole life ahead of u. Tell him. If he loves u, he'll understand.
you sound as if you are being forced into this. After all you are the one who will be carrying this baby and will be Mommy forever. So try to wait a little while and don't rush into anything. If you tell your mom she will probably kick both of your as(s)es.
Raising kids is like being pecked to death by chickens. They are not going to be the perfect little knock-offs of you and your b/f. I recommend waiting, you may not even like this guy in 2 years.
You should not be having a baby yet. Your so young. First you should finish high school...i would recommend going to college and finishing before this as well. You must be financially stable. You must be able to support yourself, with your own home. You relationship should be permanent before you decide to have a baby. You are both young, and it is difficult to tell this point in both your lives if you will be together. I know this is not what you want to hear, but it is all true. I know how you feel. Trust me.
hon i would wait until you get out of school have your dreams done and your still young you don't want to be tied down to a baby you can't do alot of things that you use to. babys take alot of time if you can deal with a baby crying every 2 hours because they want something to eat than go for it. or you might have a good baby like mine when she was 2 months old she would sleep thought the night. she is a good baby but some people arent that luck. my sister in law had a baby same time that i did and her baby would cry every hour. so i would think about it. and i know that your not done being a kid. i'm 21 and i wish that i waited but i wouldn't take her back in the world but i wish that i got my college done and my dreams done yes i still can do it but it's going to take me a little bit longer if i didn't have lydia. i hope that i helped you out.
Truthfully in honest opinion you should wait could you imagin having a baby at 17 when your life style is in it's prime going out having fun parties......you can't take a baby to a party and you can't expect your mom to watch your baby so you can go out and party thats just not right. How are you going to raise this baby drop out of school and get a job cause now a days you can't even work in a coffee shop with out your grade 12. Think twice before you go and get pregnant the world has enough people living off welfare don't you want to bring your baby up in a nice enviorment?
Don't!
Having a baby is no joke. It practically means the end of your life. You have to sacrifise a lot. Its not easy.
Why would You want to have a baby! You are young, you should enjoy life and avoid being bogged down by the burden of parenthood!
i'm younger than u...but i think that sex b4 marriage is wrong...u should have a child with the man that you will be spending the rest of ur life with...u dont wanna have sex and a child and then something happen and he leaves u...and i think finishing school would be a good thing...so u dont have to have the pressure of dropping out cus ur taking care of a child....u should talk to your mom about it and see what her opinion is....u can take my advice or not...i'm just trying to help....good luck!
If you were my daughter i would laugh in your face. You need to definately finish school. And then maybe you can have a child but you are too young.
MY ADVICE IS TO WAIT UNTILL U FINISH SCHOOL OR ARE ATLEAST 18 BECAUSE ITS HARD U SHOULD REALLY THINK ABOUT THESE REALLY GOOD BEFORE U TELL UR PARENTS OH AND IF UR BOYFRIEND REALLY LOVES U HE CAN WAIT MAKE SURE U COULD SUPPORT THE BABY AND U NEVER NOW IF UR BOYFRIEND WILL ALWAYS BE THERE 4 U WELL FROM MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE THE WAY I TOLD MY MOM IS I GOT HER IN A GOOD MOOD AND JUST TOLD HER EXCEPT I TOLD HER I WAS PREGNET IM 17 RIGHT NOW AND MY BABY IS 3 YEARS OLD AND I LOVE HIM VERY MUCH BUT IT WASNT HOW I PLANNED IT 2 BE I THOUGHT MY BOYFRIEND WOULD BE THERE FOR ME BUT HE WASNT THERE AT ALL I RAISED MY BABY ON MY OWN AND ITS NOT EASY MY ADVICE IS JUST WAIT U SAY U WANT TO HAVE A BABY ARE YOU SURE DO YOU WANT TO GIVE UP YOURE LIBERTY NO PARTIES NO CLUBING NO GOING OUT WAKING UP EARLY WAKING UP IN THE MIDLE OF THE NIGHT NOT BEING ABLE TO DO NOTHING WHEN YOURE READY TO GIVE UP ON ALL YOURE LIBERTY THEN YOU HAVE A BABY I WISH I COULD CONVINCE YOU TO WAIT ITS SO HARD RAISING A KID I HAD MY BABY AND LIKE ISAID I LOVE HIM VERY MUCH BUT IF I COULD GO BACK I WOULD NOT HAVE HIM UNTILL IM LIKE 25 GIRL TRUST ME YOU COULD HAVE KIDS THE WHOLE REST OF YOURE LIFE BUT RIGHT NOW ENJOY YOURE LIFE YOU ONLY GET TO BE YOUNG AND SINGLE MEANING WITH NO KIDS ONCE ENJOY YOURE LIFE WHILE YOU CAN. WELL I HOPE YOU TAKE MY ADVICE I WISH I COULD GET ALL THESE TEENS TO GET THE POINT IM TELLING U BECAUSE OF MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE I MEST UP DONT FALL IN MY SAME FOOT STEPS THATS ALL I CAN TELL YOU TAKE CARE AND HOPE YOU MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE.
Seriuosly think about this!! How many other girls has he fed this line to?? And do you really think he will stick by you when you have this baby and will he be willing to give up things so he can support his baby?
You are young and you have your whole life ahead of you. You may not be with him a few months and then what happens to the baby??
How are you going to support a baby and yourself with no education, no job no house??
Please think about all of the above??
ohh, thats awsome, but if you arent ready then you should let him know if he doesnt already....tell your mum that u were thinking bout it, and she might be able to give you some advice...but in the end it is totally up to you, no matter what, you will make a great mum now... or later
DON'T. it sounds like your being pushed into this. if your bf loves you and he really cares, then he'll wait. having a baby means a lot more sacrifices than your ready for.
Sit down and think about it for a while and if you say yes then don't tell your parents.Wait and let them find out.Its better to do it and get caught than to ask and be denied if you really want it....
I think you should wait a little while. If he loves you he will wait too until the time is right for you.
Both you and your boyfriend have bearly had the oppourtunity to step into adulthood yet without taking on the added responsibility of becoming parents. I am a mother of three one of which is only a few months old. These little ones are so precious and for a very short period of time. If you have a child at your age everything is a struggle, and will remain so for a very longtime. It will mean being on welfare, working at deadend lowpaying jobs for years and having to put up with everyone else's moral judgments of you. The worst part of all is that all that other stuff, all that stress will take your attention away from your beautiful baby and before you know it your baby won't be a baby any more and you will have missed it all. If you and your boyfriend are serious about this you need to sit down and figure out what you need to accomplish before you decide to do it. You need to find a place of your own, learn how to manage your finances making sure your bills get paid, get a car and keep it looked after, get jobs and start saving up, spend time living with each other to see if your love will stand the test. I'm not saying you need to wait till your in your 30's paid off a big house have a nice car, college degree and high powered career. But at least if you can get your foot on the first rung of the housing ladder, get a qualification that will ensure your employment in the future, get used to your boyfriends quirks and settle yourself into adulthood than in 2 or 3 years time you might be ready. Having a baby is both a responsibility and a privilege that many people take for granted, from a mum who has struggled for the last 7 years to provide some sort of stability for her children with a home, reliable transport, a regular and ensured income, and the ability to stay home with them and provide the love and care that I have wanted, had I done things a bit differently I might would only have taken us under 2 years to get to where we are now financially. You have barely stepped out of childhood yourselves, slow down and enjoy your late teens and early twenties because they are great times. Remember you don't need to have a baby to ensure that you two are a part of each others lives or to please one another a baby should never be a pawn, if you love each other that much a baby is a culmination of that love not a means of taping it together for fear it is going to fall apart.
Listen to you Heart-

What are some jobs for teenagers?
I'm 15 years old, and I need a job. Right now I babysit a little bit but it's inconsistant. I would like a job in which I can make my own hours and work from home, either that or a job that I can only do during the weekends. What are some jobs for teenagers?
There isn't much you can do, sorry...
Most things would require you to leave home.

5 hour lay over in vegas.what is a must see with teenagers with me?
I have a 5 hour lay over in Vegas and 2 older teenagers with me.
What is a must see and ideas for things to do.
How long does it take to get to down town from airport?5 hour lay over in vegas.what is a must see with teenagers with me?
A 5-hour layover doesn't leave much time. However if you're daring, hail a cab and take a cruise down the strip to downtown and back.
Take in all the sights and lights (depending on the time). Take a camera with you.
You might even see a free show going on (Mirage volcano, Bellagio dancing fountains, TI Sirens Show- if the layover is at night).
Caution: traffic on the strip is gridlocked most of the time; an awful time waster and bad for someone only there on layover.
Stop in at MGM Grand and have a look inside, see the lion habitat and such.
Walk the the street a block or two to the M%26amp;M store (From MGM Grand).
Don't get caught up in all the distractions and grandeur and be mindful of the time.
Wear a watch and make sure it's set to the local time.
Hail a cab back to the airport with at least one to one and half hours to spare. As mentioned before security is very tight and takes a while to go through. Have fun.5 hour lay over in vegas.what is a must see with teenagers with me?
Assume traffic will be bad so allow one hour to and from the airport to where you want to go. Also add another hour to get back past the security check point. So you got two hours.
(You do not want to miss your flight!)
First, I would cruise down the strip on a taxi. That way they get to see just how much stuff is there. Once they realize how big the place is, they will know they can not see it all in just a couple of hours. Give them each a camera and have one on each side of the car so they can get pictures of both sides.
If they are into shopping, go to the Forum at Caesars.
If they are into nature, go see Red Rock Canyon.
If they are into amusement parks, go to the top of the Stratsophere. (The old Vegas World.)
If they are into food, go to any of the low price buffets and let them pig out.
If they are into colleges and education, UNLV is just north of the airport.
You need to be back at the airport 1 hour early or so. To beat traffic and get re-check in. Not much time. MGM has the lion thing. Thats all. Rest is for the adults, no kids nears the machines or gambling pits!
Vegas is really not for the teen UNDERAGE crowd!
Just rent movies at the airport to watch.
It often takes an hour or more to get a taxi from the airport.
So, here is what I would do if I only had 5 hours.
Get a limo, they will meet you at the AP

Cruise the strip down to Caesars Palace. You would have a couple of hours to check out the Forum Shops at Caesars.
If you just want to do an inexpensive tour of the strip. Go to ';Ground Level Transportation 0'; take the #109 Maryland Pkwy South bus out to the SSTT(9 minutes) transfer to the Deuce(strip bus). Go to the upper level of the Deuce, get the front seats ';if possible';. Cruise the strip down to the Stratosphere, get off at the Stratosphere.
then you can either take the reverse route back up the strip to the SSTT, %26amp; #109 N to the AP or you could catch the #108 Paradise South bus(25 minutes) back to the AP.
~Jack~
take a cab to the strip and put them on the Stratosphere ... that's rock awesome
Only go Downtown if you want to see from a cab or you really want a cheap meal. Downtown is about 15 minutes from the airport by cab. The south end of the strip is a hop, skip, and a jump from the airport. You may spend more time waiting for a cab (15-20 minutes if the airport is busy) than you will going to the Strip.
There is a lot to see, and obviously so little time. Unless there is an attraction you want to see, I would suggest eating at a buffet at MGM, New York New York, or Luxor. There is a lot to see (in an hour or two), you can easily get bite to eat there (not cheap, but not expensive), and you are near to a bunch of other resort. If time permits, you can ask the cab driver to drive down the Strip on the way to or from the airport.
Be careful if you are on a schedule. Everything looks very close together. You can kill 15 minutes walking to a resort that is next door! Security at the airport can be terrible, depending on how busy the airport is. I would set aside 2 hours for security.
It's only a matter of minutes from the airport to the strip. A bit longer to downtown. Don't downtown because there isn't anything for teens to do.
Only 5 hours, keep in mind you have to go back through security which is a killer in Vegas. Last time I was there it took over an hour and it was 6 in the morning.
The most you can do is do a quick trip on the strip...let them see the casinos. Or hit LV Hilton and do the Star Trek experience.
10 min. cab ride to the strip. Take them to see the dancing waters at Bellagio, walk the strip, and have a great meal.
you could take the taxi to the Las Vegas strip for a few bucks. then you could visit New York! New York!. It has a roller coaster ride and a game room that's pretty popular with the teens. and you could also walk to the Bellagio to watch the famous water show for free! and the Pirate show at the Treasure Island is also for free! and the Mirage has a live habitat for their white tigers. So each hotel has unique feature to offer........so you have see what suits your family.
i don't recommend Downtown Vegas. It's has an older look and is not that appealing for the younger crowd. They probably wouldn't like it as much as The Strip.
you must see all the overpriced restaurants in the airport.sunscreen

What celebrities were shy as teenagers but became famous?
George Harrison, Cher, Gloria Estefan, Jim Carrey, Harrison Ford, Julia Roberts, Lucille Ball, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks
You could tell Brad Pitt, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Nicole Kidman are still shy when they do interviews.
You could also tell that Robert Deniro is still shy. What celebrities were shy as teenagers but became famous?
Heath Ledger said he was painfully shy and Aalilyah said she was shy that's why she wore sunglasses so no one get a look at her eyesWhat celebrities were shy as teenagers but became famous?
You can become a celeb whether you are shy or not.
Many celebs are still shy to this day that were shy as teens. Take Beyonce for example.
They have something called an Alter Ego.
David Archuleta
He seems shy, he's a teenager, and he's famous. Does he count?

Britney Spears I think :)

It is proven unhealthy for teenagers to get up too early, which will result in lack of sleep, am I right?
So my thinking is thats it is natural for teenagers to sleep in and stay up late so when forced to get up for high school at times like 6:00(like i have too) or 6:30 its unhealthy, and can even result in larger problems. Is this true?
I really want to know I don't just want your opinion either!
Thanks! It is proven unhealthy for teenagers to get up too early, which will result in lack of sleep, am I right?
No, you have it backward! You need to get to bed early enough at night so that when you have to get up in the morning, you will get in at least 8 hours of sleep! However, you are right in that if you don't get enough sleep, it's definitely not good for you. You just need to adjust the time you go to bed at night. Sounds like you are trying to find an excuse for sleeping in!!! :-)It is proven unhealthy for teenagers to get up too early, which will result in lack of sleep, am I right?
well the idea of that is that by getting up earlier you will get tired sooner and be going to bed at 10pm everynight, but society tells teenagers that staying up late is the norm (i.e. late night tv and 12 am movie showtimes, midnight bowling ect). Youll be fine though. i went 4 years with only sleeping about 6 hours a night and im the guy who if left alone will sleep for 12-13 hours. i actually feel better when i was on that schedule
Most of it is going to bed to late. No teenager i know wants to miss out on the evening, heck neither do i but we should plan our sleep. If have to get up at 6 am then i should be in bed for 9:30 pm the night before. This gives me time to settle and fall asleep.
Can having less sleep cause larger problems, well that's all in who you look at it. Health can be compromised through a lower immune system so you can get sick more often. fatigue can cause more accidents and less attention in school.
is a teenager going to listen to any of this...... No, we all know that they have to live it to get it.
Actually it is true that teenagers need more sleep than they did when they were younger. Teenagers require at least 9-10 hours of sleep in general. If you have to get up early for school, then you need to go to bed at least 10 hours before you need to get up so that you will get enough sleep. Because you have to get up at 6 AM, that means you would have to go to bed by 8 PM. Because this is a ridiculously early time, many high schools have opted to have classes a little later in the day.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA thats good. Thats a new one! Getting up early is the best thing for you to do, you'll get a head start on the day. Get things done, you know-go to class...
Getting up early is actually good for you and no,

Why is parental pressure on teenagers more harmful that peer pressure??
I've got to write and essay on this so if anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks! Why is parental pressure on teenagers more harmful that peer pressure??
Pressure put on teens by their parents to over-achieve can cause the teens to do one of two things. Either they will go on with it, and they will get good grades or whatever their parents are pressuring them at, or they will give up under the strain and rebel. Either way would cause the teen to be unprepared for the real world, because then they would either not have the backbone to make their own decisions or just give up, like they did with the pressure put on them by their parents. Why is parental pressure on teenagers more harmful that peer pressure??
The reason why is because parents are considered wiser and have more experience compared to peers, who could be considered as equals, beneath, or above you. It all depends on the person's perspective of who's opinion really counts. Half of the time, it is the parent's opinion that counts because that person values and most likely wants to believe that the parent is the one that is right. It might also be because of the idea that they could accuse a parent that they are wrong, but maybe, that person can't say that their friend is wrong... because their friend might be very important to them...
But in truth, I think either one is just as harmful as the other... It really depends on the person and their values...
because the children stress more-so on the daily pressure that they are subjected to by the parents... and the parents tend to be much more forceful on their kids then a child's friends...
Some parents might be so protective of their kids that the kids never learn to grow up and make their own decisions. In other cases, the kids might become super-rebellious.
Possibly because they have a deeper bond with their parents and they generally, trust, for lack of a better word, their parents more becuse of that bond
Teens love to say no to their parents, love to rebel. Parents say no, teens say yes.sunscreen

What do you think about parents and shop selling alcohol to young teenagers?
why do so many young people drink? are parents setting a bad example for teens and encouraging them to drink? do shop owners just want to make money?
im doing a media comment for english, my thesis is - the media falsely represents the relationship between alchol and teenagers. im interested in what you thinkWhat do you think about parents and shop selling alcohol to young teenagers?
First of all, it;s illegal to sell to minors and where I am, a parent can't furnish it. Why? Because they are children and still growing. Alcohol does many things to a persons body and drinking at a young age promotes alcohol abuse. The liability in selling to a minor can be huge. It does happen, but the laws are for a reason. What do you think about parents and shop selling alcohol to young teenagers?
The media is the driving force behind the disillusion of the United States, covering up what is really happening in the middle east, Omitting facts about candidates and trying to hide the fact that 20 different states are looking at succession from the US government.
Yet you wish to attack a more important issue; the misrepresentation of the relationship between alcohol and teenagers
I think if parents would take the time to spend with their kids and not try to control them or ignore them then that would solve alcohol abuse by teens.
Then again, getting drunk with your friends and listening to music and playing pool has always been fun. We never caused any problems or went out and got in a wreck.
A lot of it has to do with the maturity of the person drinking, it has very little to do with that persons age.

What are some books for teenagers?
I am 15, and I would like to read a book that would involve a teenage protagonist. I'm not looking for books like Eragon, Harry Potter, and that happy crap(lol). I like books like The Catcher in the Rye, The Bell Jar, and some others(not Go Ask Alice). So, do you know any good books, maybe about high school or something? Thanks. What are some books for teenagers?
If you like The Bell Jar (one of my absolute favorites), I'll go with the first person's answer and say first and foremost, Girl, Interrupted by Susannah Kaysen. Jack Kerouac is also great, though his books don't have a teenage protagonist, they are about young people and his travels in 1950's America, really enlightening stuff.
Also, as a teenager I really liked S.E. Hinton. Her books are incredibly simple to read, but they deal with teenage emotions (mainly because she wrote a lot of them as a teenager) beautifully. The Outsiders, Tex, and Rumblefish are all great.
On the total opposite end of the spectrum, A Clockwork Orange is pretty grotesque, but I think it's a must read. It's about a gang of teenage boys in the near future who do horrible things and comments on a lot of social problems and what makes us human. I read it when I was about your age, and I loved it.
My advice is to go to the classic literature section of your library or bookstore and just start at one end and read all you can. I've found the classics always more interesting and important to my life, books I remember for years.
It's great you love reading, it's my number one hobby. :-)What are some books for teenagers?
Have you used Amazon.com or Whatshouldireadnext.com?
If you go to Amazon and search a particular book you enjoy, and scroll about halfway down the page, it'll show you books that other people frequently buy in addition to the one you searched. There's also a feature on the site called Listmania, where you can search a bunch of lists that people on the site have put together. Maybe you could search ';Books Teens Enjoy'; or ';Books Every Teen Should Read.';
If you go to Whatshouldireadnext.com, you can type in the author, the title, or both (of a book you've enjoyed, such as The Catcher in the Rye) and it'll formulate a bunch of books similar, as well as their authors.
Hope this helps in some way! A personal book suggestion'; Th1rteen R3asons Why by Jay Asher and all of Ellen Hopkins' books (a warning, though; her books are all done in prose.)
Invisible Monsters
The Lovely Bones
Marley and Me
Something Wicked this Way Comes+Fahrenheit 451 (same author)
The Book Thief
Well, I like Catcher in the Rye, too.
';Nineteen Minutes';
';Hound of the Baskervilles';
';The Alchemist';
';Pride and Prejudice';
im 14 and i like to read:
-sister hood of the traveling pants

Surviving Sam by Karen Rivers
Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
Well a classic that i feel everyone should read is Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls.

Why is coffee bad for teenagers?
I am 19 and sometimes drink coffee in the morning, but I have read many health articles saying that it is bad to drink coffee if you're under 21, why?Why is coffee bad for teenagers?
Regularly having a cup in the morning is not a bad thing. If you started drinking 2 or 3 cups every morning then that would be bad probably due to artificially high heart rate conflicting with natural teen energy. Why is coffee bad for teenagers?
Caffeine is a known stimulant. Teens are very physically active by comparison to those in mid twenties etc.
Drinking caffeine before a sports event can increase the heart rate even more and can have negative effects upon the person. Caffeine is also addictive. If at such a young age you begin to drink caffeinated coffee then you will develop a ';need'; for it that can't be satisfied in any other product. An old wives tale is that it also stunts your growth.
';Coffee, the much maligned but undoubtedly beloved beverage, just made headlines for possibly cutting the risk of the latest disease epidemic, type 2 diabetes. And the real news seems to be that the more you drink, the better.';
';Consider this: At least six studies indicate that people who drink coffee on a regular basis are up to 80% less likely to develop Parkinson's, with three showing the more they drink, the lower the risk. Other research shows that compared to not drinking coffee, at least two cups daily can translate to a 25% reduced risk of colon cancer, an 80% drop in liver cirrhosis risk, and nearly half the risk of gallstones.';
The factors contributing to your coffee being ';bad'; for you is mostly outside things you add to it such as sugar.
The ';fact'; that coffee is bad for you is total bullshit. And I drink at least two cups a day %26amp; my teeth are very white. (Rembrant toothpaste FTW).
';There's also some evidence that coffee may help manage asthma and even control attacks when medication is unavailable, stop a headache, boost mood, and even prevent cavities.';
Obviously too much of anything can potentially be harmful, but coffee has proven to have more PROS than CONS. Plus, it is delicious :)
It isn't. I have been drinking coffee since I was 6 or 7 years old. I'm no worse off. Oh wait wait, that explains all my health problems. It was the coffee.
It has been proven that coffe increases your sexual need between the ages of 12-21!!!!! So your still in the process!!!! p.s. use a condom!!!
well my guess is because it makes your heart beat faster but its gross because it makes your teeth yellow and breath smell...kind of like cigs

How does modelling affect the teenagers wanting to fit in?
ok im doing an essay and the question is ';how does the media control our lives?
i picked modeling because i feel that young teens are too caught up in their appearence and i feel modeling contibutes alot to this. does anyone have any ideas on what to write about it? and also i need another topic...
like how televisionadds cause obesity because there showing macas and kfc all the tiem or something like that,...
wanna help?? lol
xxHow does modelling affect the teenagers wanting to fit in?
im a teen and well im not a self concious, self obsessive type but i do know girls that look towards models as role models and have self confidence issues, i know some parents that actually push their kids to be skinnier when they are already skinny. most models have the natural tendency to be thin and tall which have been beautfied and made to seem perfect the only problem is that their perfect image is unrealistic, but because they are everywhere in the media it is easy to see why so many teens have issues. How does modelling affect the teenagers wanting to fit in?
all the girls are very very skinny and very pretty, it makes us teenage girls think that you *have* to be very very skinny and pretty to get anywhere in lfe. That if were arnt anywhere near as perfect as the models noone will like us and we'll be outcasted because we arnt like them.
Another topic couple be how TV can also help people, like the animal cruelity shows that show the horrors of it and why we shouldnt hurt animals, or the commercials about bullying and cyber bullying.
badly in most cases
im a model, new to the business but still
as soon as i was hired, even though i wasnt told to, my immediate thought was ';lose weight';
i dont know why i felt like i had to, even though i told myself it was stupid it became quite an obsession
many girls develop eating disorders because of the media forcefeeding us images of skinny woman. Even people liek me, who are proud of their curves and cant stand people like posh etc still feel presurised, even without knowing it.
the modeling industry has made so many teens want to be pretty and flawless and if they can't be they feel down on them selves and like there worth nothing...just look up all the ';Could i be a model'; questions on here...
well, teenagers see modelling and they try to look good, buying expensive clothes but not necessary and they care about how their looks but not school... dont know..
thinspiration.....
its when one sees a model, and is inspired to become thinner..
and thinner..
and thinner..
im struggling trying to get out of that trance..
knowing
that
it
kills
The media portrays celebrities and models all
in the same ways. They make them seem flawless
and beautiful, skinny and tanned. Every picture is
air brushed yet still normal people want to be exactly
like what they see in the magazines. Girls everywhere
strive to be what is impossible, they go to extremes
to try and look like that girl on the cover of the magazine
but it just leads to eating disorders, extreme diets and
can cause diseases such as bulimia and anorexia.
Hope this helped!
Hi,
Here is a good site with articles about modeling in general.
I hope this helps.
it doesnt really models choose that awesome lifestyle.
i dont think tv causes obesity its the people.
obesity is a diasese
a good topic stemming from the one you chose is anorexa nervosa (eating disorder) - it can be fatal

Why is parental pressure on teenagers more harmful that peer pressure??
I've got to write and essay on this so if anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks! Why is parental pressure on teenagers more harmful that peer pressure??
Well for one, pressue from your parents when you are a teenager is always more harmful because it can be very intense. You always want to do what your parents say, be like your parents, succeed like your parents. Sometimes the pressure of success can weigh on a teenager because they do not know how to balance being a ';kid'; and being an ';adult'; like their parents want them to be. It is often times very hard for a teenager to differentiate between doing what they want and what and what they know is the right thing to do. Peer pressure often times is ';easier'; for teenagers to shrug off only because it is their friends usually who are trying to get you to commit to doing something. It's a little bit more difficult to tell your parents NO than it is your friends. Why is parental pressure on teenagers more harmful that peer pressure??
because your parents are supposed to provide you with an unconditional loving, safe, happy environment. They are supposed to support you and guide you to make your own decisions. When they overly pressure you, you may feel like their love and support is contingent on you getting straight A's, being the star athlete, perfect...ect. if they put to much pressure on you it can stress you out
It's easier to try and find new friends if your current friends are pressuring you to do something you don't want. It's not easy to find new parents at all. In most cases, you're stuck with your parents for life. Your peers on the other hand are temporary only. They change as you grow older.

How to survive an 11 hour drive across the border with 40 other teenagers?!?
I am driving down to Washington from Canada, and though I've packed books, games, an iPod, a pillow/blanket, and food, I know that I will wind up wanting to kill myself by the end of a couple hours. I have friends aboard but we'll probably wind up getting annoyed with each other. LOL. Survival tips, anyone?
Oh! And does anyone have tips for how to sleep (like, actually sleep, not just doze) while riding a bus?How to survive an 11 hour drive across the border with 40 other teenagers?!?
Yikes. Ok, make sure you don't kill the batteries on any of your electronics too fast. That'll spell certain death by boredom. Umm... You could always play games with your friends like ';I Spy,'; but they get old fast. Daydreaming passes time. Sketching or writing, maybe.
As for sleeping, what helps me is a window seat. I play a bit of soft music on my iPod, lean my head against the window, and close my eyes until I fall asleep. Knocks me out for a good while, unless someone wakes me up first. Then again, I'm an extremely heavy sleeper.
Well, good luck to you, hope you survive the ride. :)How to survive an 11 hour drive across the border with 40 other teenagers?!?
40 Teenagers???!!! Sorry my dear, you are on your own on that one!! Unless you can put enough valium in their hot chocolates to render them calm and compliant!!!
i think you have got everything covered
have a great journey :)
Turn your iPod up and go to your ';happy place';. =] Good luck!!
rent a car and drive there.....almost the same cost or cheaper

Why are there a lot of teenagers 14-16 mainly?
answering questions about gaining muscle, losing fat and also steroids question.I noticed that most of this questions are dumb and the answers are dumb too.Basically whenever i ask a serious question not about losing fat and anything but in other sections i get crappy answers. And also when i answer most of the questions in diet sections most of them are just spams or stupid answers. Not saying i know everything about diet and fitness. But why in the world do people answer the question if they dont know anything about it.Why are there a lot of teenagers 14-16 mainly?
Try the Baby Jack workout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKCGe2Ezr鈥?/a> it really worksWhy are there a lot of teenagers 14-16 mainly?
Numerous reasons. The main ones being A) Points. For each question they answer, they get two points. The second being B) some of them are only out to piss people off.
Then, finally, C) To waste time.
Sure, this is a site that is supposed to be serious (except for in the obviously non-serious posts) but that doesn't mean everyone is going to take it that way. You've just got to hope that you find some people with common sense to answer your question.
i try to answer stuff i know about..i see steroid questions i rarely answer..i am not an idiot with health but im not a genius..so i do what i can..as for the other pple on this site..idk i like bodybuilding.com better
They want two points..I noticed the same freaking thing.
I hate the spam bs too.
I bet the stupid people asking the stupid questions choose the spam as the best answer. lol
I think it's a points thing! Maybe they have some sort of competition going on! Either that or they're just trying to sound intelligent? I think that's more likely!
points. pretty much defeats the purpose
im not trying to make my answer hypocritical and just as pointless btw

What do you think of teenagers in high school drinking/smoking weed?
thoughts? What do you think of teenagers in high school drinking/smoking weed?
I stay away from it as much as possible, but I do drink sometimes. I mean, teens get curious sometimes, so it's somewhat expected of teens to do it. If they do it once or twice, I really have no problem, because part of being a teenager is being curious. Using it in excess, and coming to school high and smelling like weed (yes, it's happened), is not fun for anyone. The user might think it's fun, but for others, it's not fun to be around someone who smells like weed and pretends it's not them. What do you think of teenagers in high school drinking/smoking weed?
It's all been done before - it's not like this generation of teens is the first.
I was never into that stuff in school, but do remember hearing about a group of classmates - the ';good'; kids with the high grades - getting busted on state property for drinking underaged. Glad I wasn't one of them.
You never know - lots of people begin their addictions as teenagers and live a compromised life because of it. I knew guys in college who couldn't barely wake in the morning unless they'd smoked pot before brushing their teeth - I'm sure their use started as teenagers. Others might do it on a whim but get caught, and I'd hate to think that bad judgment could get you rejected from college or something later on because you have a record of pot possession.
And lots of unfortunate sexual encounters happen as a result of being under the influence ... which probably contributes even more to the teen pregnancy rate as well as the increased prevalence of STDs in teens today.
I think pretty much all teenagers drink, I mean I think its sad to do it at school though, I used to do it at parties and when I was out with my friends. But I never really had much respect for pot heads, because they were just wasted all the time, and it just ate through their brain cells and changed them into giggling idiots saying stupid stuff all the time. And if they were serious pot heads then they were in danger of doing stupid stuff too because they werent themselves. I didnt mind if someone I knew did it occasionally at a party or something, but in generally I don't like pot heads. And with coming back to alcohol, I grew out of it during university, I partied, had my fun, and then realised that it was more fun just to have one or two with friends over dinner than getting trashed all the time.
I guess it depends on the personality of the person, if they know when enough is enough, and if they will inevitably grow out of it, or if it will define them through life.
Oh and I never drank and then drove, I think anyone who does that is an absolute idiot, I always took cabs, or the bus, and I always had friends around to take care of me at parties if I was too trashed, and I did the same for them.
i'm fifteen %26amp; i think it's stupid.
ultimately, it is getting them no where in life.
There are other ways to have fun that are far less harmful to their bodies and potentially harmful to others who have been affected by drunk/intoxicated people.
seriously, they gain a bad reputation that will always go with them in life. they will find it difficult to hold relationships with friends, boy/girlfriends, and their family.
what they do has an impact on their family too and i don't think they realize this/ or really they realize it but just are too selfish too care. their parents may be known as failures and be looked down upon for their parenting, when they really did try to lead the child in the right direction.
MY OPINION: straight up stupid.
well i dont really drink or smoke anymore.
but when i did, i still had straight a's in all IB classes.
which i think is probably higher than a lot of those people who say that i must have been screwing up my life.
so all these people need to stop judging? yeahhhh.
im a teen i high school and i drink and smoke weed.
tbh ive had **** off people for doing it but it's my life and if i want to screw it up i can :)
Me i don't do it i also wont buy weed from kids in my school because people like to get over on you with your money and i rather not deal with it.
Stupid.
Once in a while i.e. New Years is okay, but drinking every weekend, and smoking weed every day is beyond stupid.
It's completely retarded.
I think its natural for kids to experiment. I think with alcohol its ok-to an extent. But not with weed.
honestly?
nearly everyone does it,as long as they're keeping up with school work and not changing behavior,OR getting addicted then i think its normal..
i think nonthing of it because i did it both in high school and still came out on top graduated and now im in college
I think as long as you know how to conroll yourself and stay out of trouble its okay to do once in a while.
Totally disagree with it, it's horrible. I'm a high schooler and I stay away from that stuff.
Society needs people to work the trash dumps and other jobs like that.
i know people in middle school that do that ****.
good times ;)
There pretty stupid
Kids are just doing it to be cool
Ew!
i stay away from it but to each their own, i choose not to mess up my lifee!!sunscreen

Could someone explain why some teenagers are obsessed with Anime?
I tried to get into it but I dont get its appeal reallyCould someone explain why some teenagers are obsessed with Anime?
You don't have to get into anime just to know what's so amazing about it.
Reason:
teens are relate to some kids who are the same age as them, since they're the main roles of the anime.
intense scenes
battles
Depends on the genre they like, its one of the reasons they love anime because they can relate to it. Also, anime is just a fantasy world where most of us teens can't go to. We watch anime to escape reality.
Good question. You deserve a star.Could someone explain why some teenagers are obsessed with Anime?
hmm.
that would be like asking why some people are obsessed with drama tv shows.
anime is just a different category of tv shows.
but more teenagers are obsessed with it because there are so many that fit into many different genres.
you have a choice of about 3 different genres on regular evening american tv, but in anime, there are many.
and not only are there many genres, but each one in the genre is different. lets say there are 3 different popular mecha animes. mecha #1 might have more romance and a more interesting plot, while mecha #2 has lots of action, less character depth, and an overused plot
mecha #3 has a dumb plot, but funny characters and balanced romance and action
where as on normal american drama tv-
drama #1 has no plot, and lots of cheesy romance
drama #2 has no plot and lots of cheesy romance
drama #3 has little plot and lots of cheesy romance
(some) teenagers are attracted to anime because of it's great diversity. there are LOADS of different shows, and many different, well-developed characters.
also, in anime, there's no such thing as cheap CGI, because all of it is animated.
also, through it's entire animation, entertaining things, like funny faces and actions can be accomplished in anime
these things could not be accomplished with real people.
It's not just for teenagers, it's for adults too.
I didn't actually get into anime/manga until I was eighteen.
It's appeal is that it's fantasy. The stories are usually really compelling and imaginative. I hadn't ever really seen anything like it. Most ';fantasy'; stuff you come across as an American is Disney Princesses and The Last Unicorn. But Pokemon and DBZ and Naruto and all of that kind of stuff is just so different from all of that. But unlike those kinds of shows (and Western cartoons), a lot of anime has a continuing story with a goal. They also sometimes have really philosophical themes. And not all anime is for kids. There are a lot out there that are exclusively for mature audiences (and I'm NOT talking about hentai here).
You probably haven't found one that appeals to your personal tastes. I realize that not everybody likes anime. Sometimes the stories are way out there. But there's soo many genres. It's not all sci-fi fantasy magic robot stuff. There are some that are more realistic that follow characters in the real world with real life problems. But a lot of people really just enjoy watching the stuff that's way out there.
Because it is awesome.
If you were trying to get into it, you probably picked the wrong anime.
Also did you watch the English version or the Japanese version
The Japanese versions are better.
Have you ever watched Pokemon? Sailor Moon? Those shows are animes
Btw teenagers aren't the only ones that like anime ALOT of adults do to ^^
*Clears throat*
If you don't like it, it's not a big deal.
I like it because there is a wide variety of anime for people of all ages.
I think it has a very detailed plot, and character design.
In the middle/high school anime's I can relate to them, because I'm in Middle School.
Some anime's have comedy, action, adventure, romance, horror, etc. which I think are the best genre's.
That's why I like it. =D
just because you don't like anime doesn't mean others can't... everyone has their own taste. think of what you really like... hockey, videogames, a certain football team, etc. it is the same... i hate football and hockey (sports to say the least) and others love them... i love anime, others hate it. it is a matter of opinion, and the ones who like anime the most just happen to be teens... not all teens like anime, even adults like anime... it is like asking why toddlers like to watch barney and all that crap, it is just how they are and how they were raised.
hope i helped ^^

teenagers like anime so much because its made out of the imagination. it helps them escape reality and jus enjoy their life. sometimes ppl might have a messed up life and they watch an anime that make sthem feel like they are watching their self but in a more jazzed up version. i love anime because of that reason i mostly watch ones based on outcasts trying to be noticed for something except for the obvious...and some i watch because they have such a great story line that u get drawn in n u wanna know wat happens next
its like any other obsession...cuz u like it alot it draws u in and it isnt jus teenagers. another reason i watch is cuz im an artist and i love seeing other ppls art...if its in a cartoon, an art gallery, or an anime. I love learning from other artists on how to improve my art work and make it go farther in the world...
there is no real reson why ppl love anime they all have their own reasons...i jus gave u mine....sometimes i dream im in the anime cuz it pulls me in so much..and wish i lived in that world...c there are alot of reasons
why do ppl watch sports...why do ppl collect cards....ur question is like these...there is no real answer ppl all have their own reasons...
~hope i helped~

I could they not be ??? I mean come on....the romance the action the way some of them end like a soap Opera ....it just gives them something to look forward to every day ...some thing to do when they are bored out of their minds !!! ...Take me for a HUGE example ....I spend 19 years of my life on anime ...and i'll still be into anime even WAAAYYYY after i'm 50 years old !!! So you see no matter what YOU think or what anyone else thinks there are ALWAYS going to be some Teen or even a grown up that will be watching anime !!!
I am, and the word to describe them is Otaku. There are many different opinions on why they like it, I just find it cool and creative. Some people like the visuals and sounds. But just like with any obsession, there is always an unknown reason behind loving it.
I like anime shows, only good one, well-drawn one. But I'm not 'obsessed' with it. I just like it along with 1000s of films, shows, animation and anime I've seen. I just love the story tellers and the art behind it.
Anime keeps you from thinking about the annoying stuff in reality.
Teenagers[like me] like it because we can relate to it. (sometimes)
thats easy. it takes away their troubles.
If a girl's boyfriend breaks up with her, then she might read anime, cuz it makes her feel better, knowing their life is better than theirs.
Because they find it amusing!!
Don't bother yourself if you don't like it!
Don't push yourself too hard!
Obsessed? Nah you're missin out on the good stuff.
Because they like it, it's the same as any other obsession.
ugh great question i dont get it either.
